Attention Oldone, series 1 in need of a home.

Hi there

So I went to see this car proper on Saturday. From the picture, maybe you can see, the doors are rusted at the bottom. I didnt take a very good look at the rear wheel arches, but the inside of the wheel arch, where it meets the sill, looked OK to me.

The car has 80 000 on it, the interior looks OK, will probably come up nice with a good clean. Body is OK, too from waht I can tell.

The owner has this car stood in front of his neighbour\'s house. I dont think its moved in the 3+ years I have been going past there, and thats most weekends.

He said its got full history and 1 owner, so I said "oh, you bought it new, then?" then he changed his tune and said - "no there was one owner before me" ( Uh, thats makes 2 doesnt it?).

He says "you cant have it for nothing", so I say "its for a chap in my club, not for me anyway, so just give me a figure"

So the figure is £500.

I asked him whats wrong with it and he says "nothing", and I ask him if it starts, and he says "yes, but will probably need a new battery".  I am a bit doubtful, why would anyone park a running car for years? Mind you hes got about 5 other cars that are just standing on his drive, too.

Ive seen this car sitting there next to his Mr2. You should get it for nixies. I had my eye on it when I was working at the school around the corner

mm the MR2 has gone now. I agree it should go for nix, but if he thinks its worth 500, then I think I will see it standing there for a long time yet. Very sad because I think it will just be chopped up because of rust one day, unless someone starts loving it now.

On a \'Y\' plate, same year as my first RX 7, which if memory serves me right was CWL 43 Y in that beautiful light blue. Sorry, the Hog goes off stage and wipes away a tear. Fond memories come flooding back of all the things that were done inside and on that car ( footprints on the inside of the windscreen, passenger side!!!!!!! How the hell did they get there :evillaugh )

Oh dear, poor car.  Was watching a series 1 on ebay - went for less that 200 - wish I had bid - would have put more than that too!

Ok we can just leave the trailer at my house, which is just a LITTLE bit further than round the corner. Besides, you might want to come and see my RX-2 ! ?

If that motor starts and runs, then it may well be worth more than nixxies. But maybe you are planning on rebuilding the motor anyway.
