Part two of the coolant problem , I picked up my new rad caps from mazda and fitted them to the car i noticed that the main one was a bit loose ... on the way to the petrol station I started to notice steam coming from under the bonnet so I pulled up very very fast. Lifted the lid and the coolant was pouring out from under the lid it was a good job I had chucked the old one in the boot . Once I had taken off the new cap the coolant was going up and down  and pouring out of the main hole , so I replaced the old cap in its place and drove it home to cool down.  Later on in the day I topped the coolant back up and went for a 30 minute drive, pulled back up at mine and lifted the bonnet to see if it was still bubbling up..... So here\'s the bit I\'m confused at .. upon listening to the engine it didn\'t sound like a boiling or bubbling sound it actually sounded if the coolant was moving through the pipes to the AST tank, a kind of squriting noise . Is this a natural sound or do I have a problem developing ? I have ordered two new caps so they should be here soon......

I do hope someone can put my mind at rest

many thanks Jamie

Did you do a coolant change at the same time ??

If so might have been a air pocket somewhere in the system.

Otherwise it would appear the caps you have ordered aren\'t too good, if you have the original AST change it for a aluminium one as its one of the first mods lots of people do, mine was changed at WGT £100 for the AST.

Cant remember if you have a aluminum AST or original one ?

The coolant was done 1658 miles ago , I have just ordered to new caps from re-work so that should do the trick... fingers crossed  .... I also still have the original ast but im going to start looking into having a aluminium one , so will contact you via pm on CN if that\'s ok Gurj?

I have had another listen today and its definitely fluid moving from the main engine to the ast tank I can hear it squirting up the pipes  I have also checked the fluid level and there seams to be no lost fluid
