Hello all.
New around and looking at a cheap Fd. and yes I understand with cheap the chance of a rebuild is highly possible.
just want an extra car(sports) to use on the odd day about.
What aboout an Automatic Fd?  Are they any good and does the Auto tranny stand up or does it need overhauling like the engine?
How does the auto fair against the manual in driveablity?
Any help advise will be appreciated. Thanks very much for your time.

I have an auto and I would get another. Gearboxes seem to be well regarded. Saying that I replaced mine just after getting the engine rebuilt. The reason I believe was that a temp sender related to the box wasnt working causing the box to work much harder than normal.

Keep an eye out - I\'ll prob be selling mine soon as I\'m out of the country a lot and won\'t get the chance to use it much this year at all.
