Can someone tell me what the capacity is of the FD fuel tank in gallons or litre\'s? Also when the fuel gauge reads half is that an accurate reading of what is left in the tank?

Thanks
Ash

I\'ve put in just over £70 before so I\'m guessing around 80L

The american owners manual says 76 litres. Not sure on the accuracy, mine always seems to go down faster when its less than half full ????

Mine goes down quicker when its half empty too. Reason for asking was i was curious as to what mpg i was getting on the motorway as i used it for company business recently and wanted to make sure i was not doing myself out of any pennies! :)  :)

I got 165miles to half a tank (from full to half) - which if it is 80Litres is around 18.8mpg! Not as good as i though it might be, expected low 20\'s

the lemster

the capacity is 76 litres...16.75 galls

on a run around journesy I get 240 miles from a full tank14.5 mpg on long journeys.. I got about 400-420.. at a steady 80mph 24.5 mpg

if you keep the revs below 3k on the motor way you can get it in to the high 20\'s or even 30\'s

I get around 280.000k to 300.000 k on a full tank to when the warning light comes on, thats 95 % round town driving at the moment, very little on the motorway,

Based on 76litres then im getting 19.70 mpg on motorway journeys, thats driving at around 3300 - 3500rpm. As i work with trucks all day that return around 8mpg, 19.70 is pretty good! Though i could never pull 44tonne no matter how powerful the 7 is!  :3gears-lh  :D :D

That would be travelling at 65 ish mph.  :(

I get around 23 mpg from a highly modded single turbo on the motorway. That is driving some what sensible.

Fairly confident I can get 25 mpg thou without being a lane hog.

Haven\'t worked it out for a while, but when i first got the car i was doing about 250ish miles to a tank. But that was with my foot to the floor most of the time :)
Now that i\'ve got used to driving a bit more sensibly, then maybe it more now?! :)
Got my Power FC this morning, so hoping once thats fitted and set up that  may get a few more miles to the gallon

Woul dbe interesting to see what the PFC does to your fuel consumption then, as im thinking that may be my next investment.

Well i\'ve got to fill up tomorrow, so i\'ll make a note of how much i put in and how many miles i get from that tank :)

i have a mate running 600 bhp with 4 extra injectors, and he spends about £15 for just over 20 odd miles..
