I have seen one before, not fitted to a car and it does look good, the wealds are top quality, so are the hoses and clamps provided.

Not sure about the cooling though, don\'t know if its any better than a stock IC.

rmagictastic

have you seen one in the flesh as it were in the UK? what was it on?

the cooling MUST be better than stock i would have thought, my only doubt would be the pressure drop across the coil? (resistance).

It is in the UK, in West Sussex but not fitted.

Yeah the IC is bigger than stock but in a stock location so heatsoak would be a bigger problem, unless your doing over 40mph everywhere.

Pressure drop wont be too bad, lots of people using big V-mounts and FMICs with no problems other than heatsoak.

I have just purchased and had one of these fitted yesterday (by a local mechanic).  I was hoping to speak to someone on here who had one.  I have a 92 fd3s Auto with stock twins.  Some time ago I had rotechnics fit an apexi induction system which was working fine and I am hoping to get in the very near future an Apexi Power fc and commander which will be fitted and mapped by Carl Hayward, so it seemed to make sense to get the i.c. up and running before mapping.  Problem 1.  It is much wider than the stock ic and therefor would not go in without moving (by extending the piping) one of the air filter cones to the only place it could fit, between the i.c. and the engine. No cold air there. and the other cone is in its original place but trapped with one side touching the side of the i.c. which gets very hot.  I took my first 30minute run today only to find that when I turned the engine off, I lost most of my coolent and the cooling system was gurgling for about 15 minutes.  I waited for about 2 hours for things to cool, refilled with water, and managed to get the car home.  When I turned the engine off, same thing, coolent loss.  Any advice would be gratefully received.

the ebay number for the one I purchased is 8000370260, it appears to be the same as the one you are talking about.
