Hi.
I have the final set of details about the RX7 I\'ve set my heart on.  The VIN Plate lists lots of stuff that looks interesting, but I\'ve a couple of mewbie questions - I\'ve tried looking for RS in the list - but the search engine won\'t allow me to look for words containing fewer than 3 letters.

Anyway - questions...

The plate is Type RS along with the words Special Edition written underneath the RS designation.  Are all RS\'s Special Editions?  If not, what\'s special/different?

Also, limited slip diffs - am I right in thinking they\'re Torsen type?

Lastly, oil changes  - I\'ve been told the I need to be careful about the choice of oil - on the same idea - are flushing oils a bad thing to use with the rotary engine?

Best wishes,
Si.

Si, have a read on this.

It should help a little.

Si,

the special edition bit is actually the heading for the box underneath. If the box underneath is empty then it\'s not a special edition.

Hi Si,

Your\'s does have a Torsen LSD - they all do as standard. There are so many different editions, it\'s hard to tell all the differences, but IMHO the RS is the best spec. RZ seats look cool but in reality are literally a bit of a pain to use, also wear quickly from getting in and out of. RZ & RS models aren\'t all that different mechanically. RS is a bit more luxurious without a significant weight penalty.

Not much longer to go till your\'s lands in Southampton :D :D

:wave   Hi Miguel!!!

I\'m counting down the hours.  There\'s been an increase in cars being vandalised where I live so I\'m trying to pass the time until the Rex arrives by turning my front garden into some kind of car park but with planters in there to help my young lady soften the edges a little.  Not patronising - she loves gardening and she brings the place to life with her skills.

It\'s the first time I\'ll have driven a car with an LSD - which sounds like an excuse for airfield/skid pan time to me (c:

My \'2 (which may live yet as a stripped down track car) is one of the few Tubbies without an LSD.

......is it November yet..?  (c:

Best wishes,
Si.
