I\'m soon to become  the proud owner of 94 R2 and would appreciate a bit of knowlegable help. What exactly does a rev meter do? Should I install a turbo timer as I\'ve been told not to as they can cause problems with heating? Has anyone used Evil Rotors for servicing,if so what were they like?
Thank for any help and sorry for  the stupid questions..

Hi Jay,

Great stuff that you are getting an RX!

Rev counter will tell you the rpm of the engine, rotors generally like to rev - anything up to 8000rpm (but there isn\'t a lot more power up in those revs on a standard one).  A good shift point on a stock engine is around 7000rpm.

I don\'t think a turbo timer is essential, you can just use your own common sense really.  If you have been driving it really hard don\'t just turn it off.  Let it idle for a while (1-2minutes) before switching off.  If you have been cruising around then run it for a much shorter period (30seconds).

Ross knows his stuff - and has been fiddling with rotors for a while now, I don\'t have a problem recommending him.

Also have a good read through the Forum, you will find similar queries here and there.
Thanks,

jay

Thanks Glenn,
So basically a rev meter is just a fancy rev counter.Anyway thanks for your help.

Turbo timers do not affect heating at all, and you will probably find most rx7\'s from Japan come with a turbo timer already.

AHHHH!!!  It might be an Apexi Rev Speed/Meter? therefore it tells you more than just revs.
