Do you mean how much it will "add" or what power level it is rated for?

rmagictastic

what is it rated for buddy???

Looking at some real world figures, you are looking at around 320 rwhp, which approximates to about 390 at the flywheel. With appropriate mods of course.

From memory, I think up to 400 at the flywheel is realistic, after that its a case of ever diminishing returns.

What level of boost would you expect to be running (with an SMIC) to produce 400 rwhp?

That\'s dependant on what Turbo you have, what kind of porting if any you have and other bolt ons, e.g exhaust, ecu etc etc.
I have an engine i\'m currently building with this intercooler fitted and will be
expecting about 400rwhp at at no more than 1.1bar.

It\'s all about intake temps.  If you\'re keeping a consistent 20-30 degrees then 400rwhp isn\'t out of the question at all.  However, if you\'re sitting in traffic and suffer heat soak, then intake temps of 50-60 degrees at full throttle (400rwhp) expect something to go pop.  It\'s about cooling the charge, and the best way to do that is an FMIC or charge cooler.  You simply don\'t get that much air to an SMIC and they suffer badly from heat soak.

If you\'re really serious about 400rwhp, and be reliable in hot weather, budget for WI, or better still get WI and an FMIC or charge cooler.

Just my 2p worth and happy to be shouted down.  That said, I was running 320rwhp with an SMIC and popped a tip due to excessive intake temps (around 60 degrees) simply because the SMIC just didn\'t get enough cold air, the temp took an age to go down to 40 or so degrees after suffering heat soak.  OK, an uprated SMIC is better, but still gets the same air flow if using stock ducting.

I can\'t shout cause I have a sore throat, buthe is referring specifically
to the greddy smic not a stock smic, and it does cool intake charge much much better than a stock one could dream of. If you have intake temps of 60+ then I don\'t think anyone in their right mind is gonna floor it until the temps come down. The greddy does heatsoak if stuck in traffic but cools alot quicker once you get moving again compared to a stock one. I talk from experience because I used to have one on my car, so can appreciate both it\'s limitations and also how well it works, but the original question was nothing to do with all of this only how much power can it support. :flamed

Brian is correct  :cheers

i just want to know what its rated to.

ive seen one advertised, i want to keep my stock twins, so im guessing the MOST im gunna get out of it with planned mods is realistically about 310-320 wheel HP.

i would rather have a smic so i dont have to install a big FMIC.

basically trying to work out if it will be up to the job?

Thanks for comments all.  :yes

Could have told me sooner  :)

I\'m running 320 rwhp with an uprated smic.

Really wish I had gone for the front mount option.
