I\'ve got a feeling I\'ve asked this before, I\'ve always thought my speedo was reading low and Tues night happened to see the boys in blue doing a radar check. I asked them if they would mind cheching the cars speed for accuracy:)

No problem so off I went up and down the road. It turns out my 30mph is in fact 34.5mph [The real bummer is I got a speeding ticket a few weeks ago for doing 39, my speedo was prob showing 32/3]

Anyway now I know its out - how do I get it fixed?

Is it mechanical or electronic?

Where can I take it?

I guess the error will increase - 60 becomes 69 and so on?

On the plus side my recorded mileage of 38k is probably 42ish

:D

It also explains why I\'ve been driving behind ppl ranting and raving cuz they\'re only doing 25.

Definition of dissapointment:

Logging on to the forum and finding nothing new to read

:D
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Are you running the correct size tyres? This will also change the speedo reading.

15% is a lot out to just be the tyres

Alot of the chips read 34 mph at 30 mph. I don\'t have a print out in front of me but the other readings are either correct or slightly under so 70mph reads 68mph etc they are pretty accurate otherwise they would fail the sva test as this is part of the test. Just seems to be at 30 mph it\'s quite out of range.

Can\'t take it back m8 - it came imported new so it was set up in Japan - just an MPH dial no KPH
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

scooby_si

easiest way is surely to, if u can presumably get acces to the dial, heat with hairdryer & prise off with 2 spoon trechnique & replace needle more in the anticlockwise direction, make a note of where it rests by lifting over the thing it rests on....
Not an exact science i suppose & i am clutching at straws & i should also mention 2 spoon technique can be risky depending on how strong the spindles are on the FD, i\'ll plead ignorance on that but i did break 2 rev dials doing white dial conversion on me scooby  lol
