Rite lads ive only had the 7 for the guts of 3 months and i need more power already!!! Went drag racin up in Enniskillen there last sunday and i got fairly bad times i think anyway and i need to do sumthing about it!!

What sort of power wud i b lookin at with the following upgraded? Power Fc, 1600cc Secondaires 1000cc Primarys, ARC Front Mount, Ground Earthing Kit And removal of the A/C... Also what else can i safely remove to save weight and Is it difficult to remove the A/C? Eg will i need to get new belts for the pulleys.... Oh and can i setup the turbos to come in at the same time instead of 1 after the other and whats the max boost they can take????

Cheers

P.s my best time was 14.42 on ****ty Jap tyres and the timing was done by straightliners.co.uk...

Hi mate,

I fitted uprated nonsequential turbo\'s, it gets rid of most the vac pipes etc under the bonnet, removed the air pump, remove the AC pump, fitted 1300 secondaries, apexi PFC, got the engine ported, put a big forge FMIC...im running 300bhp at the wheels, around about 350ish at the flywheel. My best quarter mile time is 12.9 secs. im running around 0.9bar, if you change the standard turbo\'s to this you dont really want to go much beyond that, also the bigger the boost the more strain on the engine. If you do run more boost than that i believe you need a better map sensor too...

To remove the AC pump you will need a shorter belt. Its not difficult to remove, depending on your mechanical experience...

Get decent tyres on it sharpish, going round corners in jap tyres isnt fun! for the cost of tyres you could save a crash, a few people have fallen foul to this before...it will also get your times down on the QM.

these two sites are very handy for mods and have step by step instructions on changing to nonsequential, that what i used to do mine...

Kool cheers man Yea i ordered new tyres last week but the back 1\'s didnt come in... Got eagle F1\'s 255/40/17 for 160 yoyos each fitted and balanced which is pretty good... I was plannin on gettin a bigger turbo etc but i dont want to get 1 till i have to get a rebuild done and im a good bit off id say as i got the car with 53k kms on her and now its only got 56k.... Full service history from new and shes mint....

I have another question aswell and il take a pic this evenin but she came with a sard dump vlave but its located at the top left hand corner of the engine and the pipe from it goes on to the manifold for the turbos!!! Thought all bov had to b as close to the inlet manifold as possible! Plus it doesnt really make much noise either not that i can hear it anyway over the exhaust!!

Oh yea and will she run lean if i take the cat out? Heard a rumour from sum lad at the Drag Racin who had a 7...

Cheers

BOV - Need to ask someone else mate, i kept the standard recirculating ones as im not a fan of the aftermarket ones..

Decatting will free up a fair amount of power, you will need to get the fueling checked if you are on a standard ecu, best thing to do is decat at the same time you fit the PFC.

I ran a 13.53 with similar setup. Just got 1200cc secondarys and its completely decatted. A/c pump is still install, but no ac rad installed (so doesn\'t work now)

SDminus and warthog to name two are running 12\'s on stock twins. Are you sure you have 1600 secondaries. When pip installed my 1200\'s i was meant to be getting 1600\'s and fuel rail, but the vaclines made it hard to fit.

I\'ve just got 255\'s on the back on standard uk rubber. nothing special.

Has it ever been tuned on the pfc ?? Makes alot of difference to the amount of power available. What level of boost are you running ?
