Mr Nuttah - have a look at my welding thread ( dis-heatened )  - sounds like yours is the EXACT same as mine - only 20 plates to weld on ( took me a good few weeks - just a few hrs at the weekend and every monday and friday off work for 4 weeks !! )

it can be done on the cheap even my a novice ( yup - i have NEVER welded before in my whole life - and managed to get mine thru an mot - at a cost of about £36 !! )

Keep this thread alive brett - we wont to know how it goes

and we still have the 100mph challenge on - and at this rate i may win by default !!

Grinder, my rusty problem is very similar to how yours was!!!  
 
although i do have a little more experience than you,,,  at school i made a metal clothes peg rack! looks like there is hope for me after all then!!
