I was hoping some one might be able to help me.
I\'ve got a 92 rx7 type r jap import with arc induction kit, decat pipe, apex back box, and a power fc and commander.
The problem is that it has no MOT due to failing on emissions 8.8 co and 3000 ppm on the hydrocarbons. The co drops to around   7.5 with the cat refitted. (it is before aug 92 so pre cat test).
I’ve checked the TPS, 02 sensor and they seem fine.  If I turn the o2 sensor off with the commander the co level doesn’t change, is that strange as I had expected it to go up.
These were the readings obtained from the commander whilst at tick over. (decat in place)

PIM   -   1.62V      STR   O   HWL   *
VTA1   -   0.49V      A/C   O   FPD   *
VTA2   -   1.12V      PWS   O   FPR   O
VMOP   -   1.26V      NTR   *   APR   *
WTRT   -   0.35V      CLT   O   PAC   O
AIRT   -   1.42V      STP   O   CCN   *
Fuel   -   3.57V      CAT   *   TCN   O
02S   -   0.99V      ELD   O   PRC   O

INJ DUTY   -   4.0%
IGNT LD   -   -5 deg
IGNT TR   -   - 20 deg
ENG.REV   -   770 RPM
BOOST      -   -420 mmHg
AIR TEMP   -   39 deg C
WTR TEMP   -   94 deg C

If anyone has any ideas where to go from here they would be greatly appreciated.

turn the idle turn to 1000rpm and plug air pump in
A small turbo

I don\'t know if this will help much, but whilst my FD was being prepared prior to collection, it failed its MOT emissions test as well. This was because one of the valves controlling the air pump had failed, hence the air pump wasn\'t coming on, hence CO readings of 8%

If you refit the cat for emissions purposes, this might be the reason for your 7.5% CO readings?

MOT\'d mine on Saturday and asked the blokey to give me a shout before doing the emissions as I\'d need to tweak the ECU (which he was okay with).

As standard CO2 was running ~16 and needed to be 3 to pass...

To do this go to Settings->Ign/Inj

The 3rd column (Inj Adj:) should be 1.000.  Lower it to .950 and try that.  I ahd to drop mine way further though before the examiner saw a reading he was happy with.

It resets every time the ignition is turned off so you can\'t set this before the test and then change it back unfortunately.

Don\'t drive it with a lowered setting as you\'ll almost certainly risk running lean.
