I just bought and fitted this gauge as pictured here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38660&item=2430244680

When i start the car the needle goes downwards into the mm/hg area instead of the kg/cm area (please look at pics to see what i mean!) and it sort of flutters down there.

how do i adjust this to go on the kg/cm or bar scale???

It\'s supposed to, if the engine is in good nick an vacuum correct you should see it reading approx 450-500 at idle.

hmmm i took it up to about 3000 revs and it got stuck about 300 and started vibrating?

The boost gauge will go below the 0 untill it starts making positive boost.

you won\'t see it go above the zero mark unless it is under load so just revving it ain\'t gonna do anything. Take it for a spin and you will see it climb.

lol ok, my first turbocharged car and first time fitting a boost gauge so wasnt really sure what to look for! :)

rite well i just took it for a spin and everything seems fine really, pushing it it reads just between the 0.6-0.7 bar marks, at idle its about 400 odd.

The only thing is the needle vibrates a LOT, and you can hear it cos its quite loud, is there any way to adjust this?

The only thing i saw that looks like it could be adjusted is 2 tiny screws on the back on the gauge

I have a  car in stock with one and that seems to be the way they are they just seem to like to vibrate. Don\'t know if they are adjustable though ?

Anyway the only part of the fitting i left out was this gold bit?? i didnt know what it was, i just ran the black hose from the spare nipple on the UIM to the back of the boost gauge

One end has a bigger hole than the other

I\'ve just fitted the same gauge / holder. If you splice that gold bit into the hose (I\'ve got mine about a foot back from the manifold, with the narrow end pointed towards the guage, the open end towards the engine), apparently it stops the vibration you are talking about - I have had none of that with mine.

Question in return though - where have you taken the power from for the dial - looking at the length of the wire do you have to take the dash out and attach it to a wire there?

Cheers

I figured that out in the end and its working very well :)

i used the power from the ash tray light, pulled up the middle dash, ran it through there and then through the little scuff thing at knee level and under the steering wheel. you\'ll need a longer wire than the one you get with it :)
