Wow, what a weekend!  My sister married her fiance yesterday which was an amazing day, with a lovely service, fantastic reception and lots on drinks to keep all merry.  My duties as usher were to hand out order of services, help people find their way to the reception, and drive my brother in laws Ferrari 355!  Even if it may have been a last attempt to get in my good graces (not that he needed to!), can you imagine being thrown the keys to a F355 with a full tank of petrol and told to \'look after her\' for a day?!?

That V8 throbbing away behind you begs you to put your foot to the floor at every opportunity.  The grip is astounding!!!  You have to really upset the rear wheels due to stupidity to get the back end out.  165 on the M3 with the roof off was interesting!  Well, I was saving for a house... I recon I could live in a Ferrari!?!

Ahh, the A3.  Where two of my friends parted with their driving licenses!  Excellent stretch of road though.

I was amazed to find the prancing Pony to be so spacious and comfortable.  Quite dated interior.  Stranges sitting in a car created in the mid 90\'s decorated in 80\'s leather interior!  The air vents are like something out of a old space movie.  :rollin

how did it compare with the Rx7 ?

my friend had one for the day and the Rx7 more than proved itself

I had that thought on my mind most of the time... other than when the girls walked past o\'course!  :D   ;)   I can happily say that I am in total agreement with your friend.  It\'s important to remember that the Ferrari is based on a V8 and so unsuprisingly has more torque on the higher rev band.  But that also means, from a standing start, the Rex certainly feels faster.  HOWEVER, the grip on the Ferrari was unbelievable.  I have honestly never felt anything like it.  We had to drop the clutch at nearly 7000rpm to instantly get the rear end out into a doughnut.  Taking corners, even when it was raining lightly was so impressive.  The Rex would lose tration at about two thirds the speed even with the very best tyres on.  The heaters an absolute joke, the stereos pants, but WHO CARES?!?  The V8 punching away in the space behind your ears plays a melody that no stereo could equal.  And whatever speed you may be doing it sounds fantastic.  If you have the money, they are worth every penny.  If you are struggling to afford one, I wouldnt recommend it over something cheaper like a Porky Turbo.  Beneath that, an RX7 is almost certainly one of the closest contenders.
