hi just took delivery of my fd 3 at the weekend took it out last night only to discover the dash board lights dont work, at first i thought it was due to the clocks being removed but its all the lights around the heater controls as well, could this just be a fuse before i go tarring the dash apart. also the temp gauge is not working any suggestions, if these problems are down to a fuse where is the fuse box and which one would it be?
thanks

sounds very much like a fuse. The fuse box on Mazda\'s are usually in the footwell area on the drivers side

gavin

checked all fuses and they are ok guess i will have to start stripping the dash
thanks

did you try replacing the fuse to check it ? sometimes fuses can blow and still look fine. ... worth a try before taking the dash appart.

There might be a second fuse box under the bonnet too (not 100% sure on that one though)

gavin

found the ones under the bonnet all ok

removed the clocks but nothing suspicious, any suggestions cant drive in the dark:confused:

Have you checked your dash dimmer control switch?

I know, it sounds obvious, but thought i\'d mention it!

It works by pulsing the negative signal rather than the positive so bare this in mind when you slap a multimeter on it! If you check the positive and use ground earth - this will give you a false reading!

Otherwise, could be a plug problem behind the dash when the clocks / delimiter were done.
