Does any one know of a good place preferable with rx7 experience that can do four wheel alignment, in the s.w. london area.

Oddly enough, I am booked in with Micheldever Tyres tomorrow morning. Phil G. is booked in on Tuesday!

//www.micheldever.co.uk

I\'ll let you know how it goes, but based on the fact that they only book in one car per dayand want me there at 8.00am, I am hopeful that they will be thorough and do a good job.

It\'s only 30 minutes down the M3 from yours.

I\'ll report back and let you know what I thought, watch this space....

Steve just did mine for me, up here in Daventry( RX-8 Racing Team ) he also set up my suspension. Went to Bedford track with him on saturday, they were running one of the race cars, he took me out in my car to test drive it. GOD I NEVER KNEW A FD WAS THAT GOOD. Nothing and i mean nothing on that track could stay with us, what a racing driver he is, ( we were only running 0.8 bar on 95 ron mixed with 98 ron but it felt like rocket fuel ) he loved the drive and the set up was spot on. He also sorted out my road suspension set up and thats the nuts to. I took her round the track and she stuck like sh*t to a blanket..As he said after we came back in i\'m happy with that. He\'s happy!!! i\'m over the moon and had the drive of my life, who needs German or Italian cars !! saturday non of them could catch my Rex.
Steve is on here if anyone wants his expert help in setting up there rex then i\'m sure he would be able to help, as he also runs a top rate garage.:cool

Do you know what settings he applied John?

I have no idear, they had all this laser kit and were taking measurments everywhere, i can get the final set up for you. But i would have thought that that would be for my car. I did show him a copy of the sticky, but it\'s an art form with him. He stood there and just ran his eyes over each head on view of each side, let his lads do the measurements then told them what to alter. My rear off side was well out. Steve said to me, Is your back end stepping out, Yes, It should be because your set up is on the edge of breaking away whenever you go round a corner. ( the only thing i can think is that it had been set up in Japan for Drifting ) WELL IT DON\'T DRIFT NOW.
You want the settings i\'ll ask him, but having seen the results i would want them to do it and get it right, each car is individual IMHO, i know they are spot on as they are the lads that set up the race cars, can\'t ask for better mate.
PM me as well. Are you back in my driving seat on Thursday, TO GO WHERE NO FD HAS BEEN BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right, went to Micheldever this morning :)

They use a John beam 3d visualizer (posh bit of alignment kit), which is pre-loaded with stock FD settings, for those that need it.

It took about two hours to do. The guy doing the work (Gary) was a right perfectionist, which is good!

I used a different setup - the "long track event" settings as have been widely posted.

Very happy with the service.

Would you mind if I ask how much you paid for that, Max?

So I approach Steve Guglielmi, I believe in using a bit of an expert, especially from what has been written here, but at £145+VAT? Seems a tad steep. National tyres down the road want £30, but then that\'ll be the YTS boys and no lasers involved, I am sure. STS in Bedford, as recommended to me by AndyP, are about £50, but are closed next Saturday, the only time I can get down south before I go to the Ring.
Can anyone recommend someone who can do my 4 wheel laser alignment locally near Durham at anytime or near Milton Keynes but on a Saturday ? I remember taking my GT-Four to somewhere in Northampton years ago, maybe in Bushmills somewhere, can\'t remember.

Any help welcome !!

Cheers,

Mart.

There are several places in Northampton that have been recommended for other Jap cars.

I\'ve just had mine done, at Northampton Motorsport.

£117 total.

I rang a few other places, but with responses like "RX what?" and "yeh, we should be able to do it" doesn\'t exactly instill a great degree of confidence!

Car needed a small amount of adjustment, and does drive better now, less tramliney. Did the J-Tuner day at Bruntingthorpe a few weeks ago, and car felt good at 150, and also stuck very well round the corners.

Northampton Motorsport quoted me the same sort of price when I called them today, going to STS in Bedford now who have covered 3 or 4 cars on this forum, about £80 all up they said.

Bring on the ring !!!!
