HKS T04R Kit.

Has anybody else had the HKS t04R turbo kit fitted.
Did you need a dump valve near the fuel manifold or is one built into the turbo kit.
Mine makes an unusual noise when dumping and i\'m not sure if its the waste gate or some sort of dump valve. Its not really a pleasant sound. Sort of clacking noise is only way to describe it.
I tried fitting a dump valve and the other noise stopped.
Not sure what to do !

That sound, sounds to me like the waste gate, its probably an external one, you can get them internal and loose the noise.

Hi Adrian,

Sounds like your hearing your wastegate operating.

You will hear it more prominently  when you lift off the throttle when the  wastegate see\'s vacum.

Now you have fitted a BOV valve all you have done is hidden the noise because now both valves operate when you lift off the throttle.

I would say personaly that you actualy have no problems at all, personaly l like the wastegate noise

Do I need the dump valve with the HKS T04R kit.
WGT fitted the turbo but said nothing about a dump valve and until I fitted one there was nothing visible between the turbo outlet,intercooler and the plenum.
Also the clacking "wastegate" noise definately goes away (and is not masked by the hiss!!!)

Sorry to go on about it .... I dont want to damage by £4k investment.....

I\'ll go and take a photograph!!!!

ive got the HKS T04R with BOV and external wastegate, mine makes a ncie sound actually...i will get a pic of the engine bay up later
