1st impressions of the new engine:

For sure the most powerfull machine I\'ve ever owned - you can loose the back end very easily pulling away.

Not like any other rotary ive driven either - its really tourqie. Instant throttle response (no intercooler/no turbo lag), it just goes.  You dont have to wind it up but it just goes faster if you do.

The reliability seems to be much improved too.  Starts 1st time, even after short trips, or when hot.  Not too easy to stall either.

Cant say I\'ve really started to see what this thing can do.
Its only running 10psi at the mo & its sillyfast.
Wonder what it\'ll be like with its boost controller & 15psi?

I wonder how fast it is?  I think Tim knows.  (there are sucker marks on the front & rear screens.  Timing equipment?  What else do you stick to the windscreens?)

Micro tec wide band sensor!
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Eh?  whats a microtech wideband sensor doing stuck to the rear windscreen?

You can still loose the back end even with the LSD, It must be madness without one!

its used to tune your microtec ecu,  shove a probe up the exhaust pipe (or a 02 sensor in the pipe)  it tells what the Air to fuel ratio is so you can adjust the fuel levels accordingly.   Basically the same as a rolling road but you can do it on the road while driving \'normally\'.

Have you had fun upsetting people with much newer, allegedly faster cars yet? :cool

Now the sunny weather is here I have been out in the RX a bit & I love it.

The exhaust note is marvelously antisocial!

I dubt there is much on the road that can touch it.  I\'d love to go into detail about what\'s under the bonnet & how it works but to be honest I just don\'t know.

I\'ve been hasseling Tim for a spec sheet but I expect I\'ll have to drive back there & make him write it in front of me:D

I think its got 2nd gen ignition & 3rd gen fuel pumps/lines, TII turbo, low comp rotors, front mouted oil cooler, ported 12at.

Dunno what else its got - perhaps some of you can identify bits for me at the SE meet next tuesday?

Where is it again?

Dartford.  If your coming from south of the river, go past the bluewater roundabout and turn left.  Its the 2nd or 3rd round about down from there.
