Hi all,

back from my jaunt down to Portsmouth for a vistit to RE:Worx to have a service, brake pad change and fit my Tein Flex shocks (blame Donato! :p) :)

Big thanks to Chris for doing all the work and Geff for putting up with my dumb @ss questions about all sorts!

I am riding with the softest setting at the moment and it is much easier on the spine over the stock shocks, so will be tweaking over the coming weeks using peoples experiences.  I also have the ride height 5 mm above what I had before, this way I can get on/off my stooopid drive with ease - not ideal, but short of moving, the best I can do.

Another bonus was finding out I have RZ brake calipers and rotors(bigger and beefier) - kick @ss :) - thanks again to the previous Japanese owner.

Chris.

Hi Chris,
By coincidence, i also got my Tein flex fitted by Chris.....brother of Geff... in the last 48hrs!!:D
I also went for the PWR Rad., which looks nice and helps cooling the Rexy bitch!:cheers
"I know you want it" relating to Porting!!-Though i\'ve gone for it since my second tip-drop :rollin
Had the FD almost dot-on 6 years and it still clings to me like..whatever you think:bandit

Yeah, I was having a good look at yours from underneath as it was up on the ramp when I was there :)

I\'m pretty sure I\'ll have some porting done at some stage, but that\'ll be when I have saved enough to get the whole engine bay done in one go :cool

That\'s the way to do it Chris..in one hit....overall a more satisfying result.
Drove home tonight from REWORX-car felt so much better with the Tein Flex..no burning though, as got to be sensible post rebuild...BTW, the Xtreme single plate clutch bites like a bitch on heat!!:p ...Need to practice to avoid embarrassing kangaroo jumps/over-revving!!
Thankyou to Geff,Chris et al, for doing a great deal of work in a short space of time
Beers all round! :cheers :cheers

Too many cigars wearing those over 40\'s slippers of yours Pete :rollin That clutch peddle is for girls ;-)

HKS twin plates are what I fear most - the Cusco, Mazdaspeed and OS Giken twin plates I\'ve had in my cars were heavy weight on the peddle but you couls still slip them easy - both HKS twins I\'ve driven have been awful, really hard to use easy, in spite of every effort to use different foot angles and peddle adjustments!

Unrelated, went out for a spin in the red car today for the first time in a while; narrowly avoided getting nicked and got back to the workshop after a great burn and a some bad \'drifting\' around the industrial estate remembering all too well why I love the FD RX7 so much - she just ****ing rips!!! :cool

Nice one Rich!!:p
Ooo, i feel really Gheay now about the clutch!;)
It looks like tomorrow will be a cruise day to master "smooth clutch bite" technique..........:rollin
Just need the V-clamp and advice from good old Geff about running in my engine...even below 4,000 revs, it sounds NICE :bandit

No offence mate, you get used to \'performance\' clutches generally I think - when I picked up my silver FD with a twin plate I was hopping about all over the gaff for a while. Now I find my self trying to kick in the bulkhead of cars with stock clutches as they are comparatively so light. The Xtremes I think are very easy to drive for their performance and compared to a lot of other clutches.

You\'ll get used to it old bean ;)

You\'re right Rich,
And no offence at all!

I was looking at the Tein kit, with the EDFC, did you not consider getting that Chris?? We all love gadgets that make us lazier :D

Hehe, yeah, I look forward to kangarooing around after the clutch gets upgraded.

<--rYaN--> : I didn\'t really consider the EDFC, as far as I can tell, it\'s most handy when setting up, but as I don\'t need to alter it that often at all, once it is set up, I won\'t be changing it much - although it is a nice gadget :)  Altering the damping is real easy anyway.
