I am just about to invest in oil pressure and water temp gauges and wondered why there would not seem to be suitable replacements that can be located where the stock ones are.

Whilst I accept that a boost gauge will have to be pod mounted, why do the stock gauges have to be left in prime position with further pods sprouting out for the aftermarket replacements.

Any views or suggestions please?

Keith

(one thing I\'ve learnt from this post is how to spell gauges)

there was a link where someone did one of the dual digital gauges in place of the little stock ones, just needed some wire tweaking stuff (to use my technical genious terms dont ask if you dont understand them i dont want to overload your minds http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm46052GB\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_3_103.gif\' border=0> lol
Think it was on the robrobinette site or similar....

Thanx, although I was looking for needle type guages the digital solution gives a lot more info.

Must get that new Dremel tool though before I start .............

I\'ve just had an e-mail back from SPA about the dual gauges , they also do a fuel gauge conbined with volt meter , shame its not combined with fuel pressure , hopefully I\'ll have a picture by tomorrow

I feel this would look alot better as all three gauges would be identical , they also come with red screens so it should all match up nicely , I think I\'ll be getting some as soon as I\'ve got a bit of spare cash

Great - could start a whole new trend!

Be nice if the backing was white to match my other dials

Hmm......... it\'s got to be boost/fuel pressure and water temp/oil pressure. White face with chrome bezel.

No barnacles clinging to the dash must improve drag coef.

it might be worth getting oil temp as I\'ve been told its actually quite important , it\'ll definatley let you know your engines properly warm and ready for some hammer

I\'m after getting water temp/intake temp , oil pressure/oil temp and the fuel/volts gauges

my boost gauge is on the steering column in an RE-Amemiya pod

Where will your fuel empty/half/full gauge be then?

RE Amemya boost guage on the steering column is still on my "wish list" depending on the outcome of this thread.

Let us know if you manage to dump the water gauge and keep the low water light and buzzer.

Might be worth a mention that l went for american Splitfire gauges with a black face and an orange needle because they blended in well with the origonal clocks.

Real good and real cheap, £35  for boost, water temp or oil temp.
