Jono FD3

Hi everyone, just bought a standard 1993 Jap import FD3:rollin :D but I\'m new to this spinning rotor motor!
I have heard a few horrer stories about decating leeding to boost problems:reallymad  could anyone throw some light on the subject for me?

If I can decat without mods, I was going to make my own but keep the heat probe and the air pump feed, would this help the running of the motor or would I be better off binning them?

Thanks for your help,
Jono

air pump feed is pointless only there to cool cat AFAIK & if you can get smaller belt & suitable pulleys best bet is to remove air thingy altogether.....Presume same is true of the heat thingy?
As you mention though you\'re very likely to get up\'d boost which normally sounds like fun but without an ECU to control fueling suitably anything close to 1 bar then you will end getting det & blowing the engine so at worst at least get a boost controller to keep it down & ideally if you dont like living on the edge then please consider doing the ECU (apexi power FC or whatever) at the same time.....
Cheers

damn it my english sucks at the minute but i think the above just about make sense............ECU is a requirement with anything over 2 basic mods (ie induction & backbox) as a theory & you\'ll need a few more fueling mods as a bare minimum if your going over 1 bar &/or running more lean c/o breathing mods.
It\'s not all bad though the ECU will give a much better ride, performance & mpg in all liklihood so worth doing IMO....
