Is It Overboosting??

Good afternoon all,

 OK, took her out the other day and recorded the boost patten with the Defi thingybob.

found that the boost is getting up to about 1.1 (the guage is KPa) on the secondary, but not much more.

the car has got a RE intake and Kakimoto cat-back, think its still go the cat.

any help???

Sounds like a high boost, mine is running 1.2bar and I got told it was high.  I think ideally its supposed to be around 0.9bar for safety.

Stock injectors are at 100% duty cycle at around 1bar.

If you dont have those upgraded with appropriate tuning, you will soon pop the engine. Dont do it, put in a boost controller.

from what little i know have heard etc if you dont have fueling mods & suitable ECU anything over 1 bar your living on borrowed time......

                                       but does anyone know why it would be overboosting?

i think that the ECU may have been fettled in Japan as the car has made 312 fw/bhp.
When the car was rolled the bloke there said that my Air/Fuel was well rich, he said it went to 9 at max chat, does this mean that ive got bigger injecters??

er dunno mate maybe someone knowledgable will answer but i\'d be very tempted to get it checked over for fueling etc by one of the specialists  could work out much cheaper in the long & even short run....

Think you\'re looking at about 10.5 to be on the safe side at WOT, 9 is very rich.  No idea about your injectors though, sorry.  It certainly seems like it\'s chucking the fuel through though.

If you want to bring it down, replace the pipe from the inlet compressor housing to the wastegate control actuator with one without a pill and put a ball and spring boost controller in line.  Worked for me.
