i have been a 300zx owner for the last couple of years and was thinking about a change of car then was offered a deal of a strait swap with a j plate rx7 so i went for it

no with the problems i have been having a problem with high idle and a slight missfire at low revs so today i got my head under the bonnet and found a broken wire and a vac pipe loose (see pics )
could anybody tell me what they are for and where they go
and also if this would give the symptoms as above

many thanks

:D

that pipe will be your high idle problem and that wire needs sorting out. The pipe will go to the side of the plenum just behind the throttle body. It\'s actually easier to unbolt the plenum and get to it from the underside than faf about with it still attached. Be careful not to break any check valves! The green and white ones! Oh and don\'t miss the boost control solenoides (2 green ones) near the injectors. ;)

I\'m a newbie here so let me stand corrected but..

To me the pipe looks like it may have come off the fuel pressure regulator (just to the right out of shot on the back of the inlet).  If it is it\'ll be easy to see where it came from (look for the small cylinder to the right of that first picture)

ok got the pipes re connected and the wire sorted but now found anothe vac pipe with a bolt in it ,another broken wire ,and the aircon clutch connection unpluged

this car had just had a rebuild before i got it but i am now thinking that they didnt have much rx7 experiance and may of got a few pipes on wrong or not even connected

so does anybody have a pic of the vac pipes under the plenum with the plenum removed

thanks:)
