Sorry, this topic is not a cheeky as the title suggests :D

I am doing some work on removing rust from my wheel arches and I now need to go and buy some paint - probably a touch up pen and an aerosol.

The question is can anyone reccomend somewhere which sells older Mazda paints? I know Halfords can mix it up in store for you but when I asked them to do this for my \'72 Bug the colour match was pretty bad.

Ideally I would get it from someone who does mailorder as I\'m up North, but then again - can you send aeorsols through the post?

Oh, and it\'s a red T2 cab.

Cheers

Check yellow pages for a paint supplier in your area (\'Paint and cellulose spraying\' \'Paint spraying and Mixing Equipment\' \'Paint varnish and Laquer\' all good places to start) OR go to a local high end spray shop and ask where they get their paints from.  They are not likely to want to get involved with aerosols but might know where to go round your way even if not to their own supplier.

A good supplier will be able to mix up and match colours (match as in at least get close to) the original shade based on the paint code for the car. If you can\'t find the code on the car - there is a thread on here somewhere that lists them I think and also covers where to look on the car as I remember.

Bigger paint mixing shops can make up aerosols of paint they supply - the best ones can also allow for a little fading of the original pigment. Take them the car to look at if it helps - It\'s not your average Fiesta - it might engage their interest enough to go the extra mile for you.  The aerosol wont be as cheap as the Halfords variety and you might need to buy a few at a time - but cheaper than a respray.

If not too obvious - hope that helps.
