Well...you see, that price may reflect the peace of mind you will have afterward of owning a rex and  although wgt are cheaper but they are in Manchester i think and thats £70 of petrol for return journey as well as travel time.. all count.

I just hope everything will go ok.  Been off the road for longer than I care.

You should be OK with Rotechniks mate. After all they build rotaries and should know the common problem areas to check.

Its Si\'s favourite, Hurley\'s you need to stay away from. :p

With regards your clutch it does indeed sound like it has a twin plate or multiplate clutch. I have had my FD since Jan 5th this year and this has a twin plate clutch, it makes the same grinding noise while clutch is depressed.

YES they are an absolute booger to get the hang of. Just ask Freddy he was in the RX when i first drove it! It was worse than my first ever driving experience. In the rex stalled it multiple times trying to set off, when i did get it moving was Kangaroo hopping down the street, the biting point was right on the floor, only had to wiggle my toes slightly and BANG clutch engaged and i\'d stalled it again lol :rollin

Now however i have completely got the hang of it, only taken me a few weeks of intermittent driving to accomplish this. No more stalling and i can now set off like a trooper from the lights to the dismay of all my local Chavs & Chavesses who were the ones probably laughing at me when i stalled it lol.

So if everything goes well with the check up, which i hope it does, then just perservere with the clutch!!! After all did someone not say that "Good things come to those who wait"....

Hi, I\'ve booked the car in for Thursday.
Icesurf3r, I didnt stall it, but just about though.  Totally understand what you meant about the Kangaroo hooping.  I bet those learner drivers in AA, BSM cars were laughing me...............

Hiya,

Ive also got a twin plate clutch and it makes all the squeeling and so on when warm. Think its because your not used to the clutch is why its making all that noise. They make noise anyway but I know when I 1st got mine it was screaming all the time (it was just the dogey way I drove it whilst getting used to it) :)

Think you mentioned somthing about bank or a scraping noise from the back in one of your eearlier posts. This could be just an aftermarket diff. I have one on mine and at low speed the car can judder and mace scrappey bangy noises.

We all have are prefered tuners but for a car inspection any of the two you mentioned could do the job.

I hope you find the one you want and enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

WARNING: Once you start modding you have trouble stopping :) I was originaly looking for a stock RX-7 now its far from it lol

Do you have any pics of the car?

Chris :wave

J.j.

No, dont have pics for this one, but you might have seen photos of my last FD, I crashed it in Nov last year.
Know what you mean by the modding.  I spent a lot of money on that car.
Will take a photo of it once I\'ve bought it.

Cheers for all you guys\' help.
Hopefully, I\'ll be a proud owner of a FD again.
