On a 92 FD are the rear wheel bearings adjustable (can they be tightened) or do they just have to be replaced?

grinder

if its anything like the FC you need to replace them

and i think my mate paid about 300 for one side doing

you have to have the bearing pressed in

take care

shockingly poor description of how i did mine cant remember what price was for bearing itself from mazda now think it was around a tonne if you have someone/where you can get the labour done easily then 300 is a bridge too far in what needed.....
In terms of adjustment if you\'re noticing it from noise or such like (i didn\'t till Pip commented so cant claim to be an expert on that front http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm46052GB\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_7.gif\' border=0>) then chances are yers is fooked & needs replacing.....

Pips just recently done mine , I was having longer wheel studs put in and you need to take the hub apart to do it so new bearings where needed , anyway I\'m straying from the point , if I remember correctly it was a touch over £300 for both but this included building up complete replacement hubs and re-machining the hubs to take the new studs and fitting ( which wasn\'t as straight forward as it should have been )

I wouldn\'t try doing it yourself as the hub retaining nut is a pig to remove , when I tried it I ended up lifting the suspension right up and it didn\'t budge an inch

Finally tuned - 317.3rwhp :burnout (thats 374.4fwhp for those who like bigger numbers)
