HELP I\'ve had the following happen twice now in the last couple of weeks.

In third gear put foot down, car gets to 3.5k then its like hitting a brick wall. Lasts a second then normal service is resumed and it will rev normally upto redline or next gear change.

Does it sound electrical or fuel stravation or something completely different ??

Engine is stock and was rebuilt 4k ago so really don\'t want to cause any damage.

Cheers,
Rich

Have you got a boost guage fitted?  If so, what are the readings?

Sounds like overboosting to me.

If you havent got one fitted get a boost gauge and see whats going on. Anything above 12psi (.8Bar) of pressure and you will be hitting fuel cut and not doing a lot of good to the engine.

Yeah got one fitted but its not working. I\'ll take a look over the weekend and see if I can get it working.
So if I drive off boost (gentle right foot) it should be ok until I get it looked at properly ??

Should stop it, if it is boost cut, which it does sound like!

Boost gauge is one of the cheapest, yet most vital mods imo.
