In a quest for ever unusual subject headers, I fear I may be screwing with the search engine for future members - however...

How hard is it replace the front disks and pads on the FD?

Is it an easy DIY job?

How long would it take?

Will i cock it up and and lose my brakes doing 120mph on the track?

Should I use Rustic Light Old Oak or Rustic Dark Old Oak flooring in the master bedroom?

And Finally...is it abnormal to have improper thoughts about Cheetarah from Thundercats?

1) cant imagine the FD is that much harder than the FC to do brakes on and I have done it. not too bad, just be prepared for some shouting ands swearing trying to get the little spring clip back in place! Time? depends on how careful and patient u are! I would estimate 1 hr per side.

2) Rustic Light Oak, dark oak makes the room feel small and opressive! (oh yes I am an interior designer honest gov

:rollin )

3) Glad u said that, I thought I was the only one to have improper thoughts about an animated female cheetah/human cross!

Oh my!  Must resist pussy jokes.

On the break topic... I changed my front discs and pads and rear pads in an afternoon with bugger all knowledge :)

How easy it\'ll be depends on the last time your discs came off.  I had to drill out the retaining screws as they\'d welded themselves in place.  The discs had welded themselves to the hubs too they\'d been on that long!

If you don\'t suffer that problem then each side is a 20 min job.  Rear pads are a little trickier as you have to wind the piston back in and a special tool makes this easier.  A 17mm open-ended spanner also works aleggedly but I wouldn\'t think it\'s easy :)

As long as you\'re sensible and not a complete liability then you shouldn\'t be in any danger of losing the breaks at speed...

PS.  If you want somewhere off-road to do the work you\'re welcome to pop over here one weekend...

Si bro, I dont think that\'s a beer belly...that\'s where she keeps her big stick (easy access to twirl around and defeat the forces of Mumraa...)

At least...I hope that\'s where she keeps it...

Oh and thanks for advice on flooring mate, I went with the Rustic Light Oak.

Following all the highly technical and very specific brake help you\'ve all offered, I\'ve decided to get Pip to change the brakes when the car is in next week for a new clutch...lol
