3rd generation RX-7's / For those interested in progress
December 12, 2006, 05:48:46 PM
LOL !!!!!

Howard and crew are not the first to do this by far. they are running a patchwork fuel system with methanol and very low tunes with a very poor and un reliable set up.

If you really wanna do it properly then wait till next year when the sh1t will hit the fan.

No that is incorrect. it would be 380 ish atw.. rotarys have a differant BSFC to piston engines and differant VE depending on the port and the effictive port duration creating a differant BMEP at X boost.

the figures i quoted are for 2 rotor

well a
GT42R flowing 84 lbs a min in a stock port rotary flows 1234 CFM this equates to 643 whp ish.

stock twin flows about 50lbs of air at peak flo = 382 whp

This and these formulae work for the rest of the world so i cant see a problem with them in the Uk !

good luck with your project what ever it is

1.92 CFM per 1 RWHP

Keith . I would start looking a truck parts mate. I dont know the names of the truck servicing people in your area but they will surely have the pipe you need.

Ant. its not aimed at you lol

I learn in a similar way to the way you just have.

also my girlfriend bud drives a meth dragster in the mid 5 second range LOL. I also buy my meth from santa pod from th sponsor of that team. Above all lots of time trying differant stuff and reading lots and lots.
Its not just me. Its a team effort. We have all learnt together.

Ok.

This post contains no body kits
This thread contains no fancy wheels
This thread contains no ICE
This thread does not contain a picture of my car after every wash.

Since i tend to get flamed for my opinions on this forum i am going to come forward here and offer some good tech info in video form. Some of you may have seen this vid before. There are lots of lessons to be leant by 90 % of the drag racers on this forum.

The times recorded by most people are generally influenced by 1 thing. ( and its not the car )

Glen recently started a thread about drag racing in order to try and get some knowledge flowing.

Drag racing is not about the person with the lead foot........... :Grrr

This vid goes into one of the first parts of racing.

My personal opinion ( here we go again ) is drag racing is not a solo sport. It does require a team of people you trust. These people can help relay info back to the driver about the strip the other cars and your own car.

Anyway enough of the public service speach from me.

There is stuff to be leant from this and maybe others will add to it
enjoy :Hammer
