i figured i would start the thread so we can all share what setups we are running, what has and what has not worked, and just general info and experiences to help your fellow skidder stay slideways.

ill start....

86 egi

suspension:
HSD CS2 w/ camber plates
HotLine modded spindles
rear center camber bar

front
camber: 2.5-3.0
toe: 0
caster: stock

rear
camber: 1.0-ish
toe: 0 (my left side keeps moving due to not able to tighten bolt down enough)

engine: stock egi

brakes: stock

exhaust: hi-flow homemade something

drivetrain
stock clutch
welded diff

wheels
front: 17x8 et35 (use 25mm spacers so et10, still scrap but only at FULL lock)
rear: is whatever i can get my hands on

this setup works great for me, have no issues (right now) getn it sideways.  since i have the modded spindles at full lock my wheels do grind and i lose speed.  but i mainly use full lock if im running into trouble.  may need to add 5mm spacers and see what happens.  i figure once i go turbo or v8 i wont have any issues with losing speed:Giggle

2nd generation RX-7's / Manual steering rack...
October 24, 2011, 08:28:09 PM
Quote from: Adam fc;796023what was the manual rack like to live with then?? I\'m simply looking to swap mine out as It\'s one less thing to go wrong as its not really going to be a daily.

i used it as a daily and it was ok to live with.  slow speeds was a real PITA, but other than that it was ok.  felt like i almost broke a finger when i caught the wheel the wrong way while drifting, since im a noob at drifting i figured make it alittle easier on me and went power steering

Quote from: dthebuk;796022do the manual set ups use the same hubs as the powersteering set ups?

everything bolted up to everything:).  steering linkage bolted up, have to use the same tie rods(manual use manual and power steering use power steering tie rods), and the tie rods connect to the hubs just like normal

2nd generation RX-7's / Dual alt pulley?
October 19, 2011, 09:08:13 PM
i added a dual alt pulley when i got rid of my air pump...if you take off the air pump belt, then there is very little belt-to-pulley contact on the water pump pulley, so thats why i doubled up.

so now i have 2 belts with little belt-to-pulley contact haha
