T78 at 1 bar, caged with no interior lol.

We built it for track work, but I rarely get to track it. Mark\'s rex is in bits so I lent him the T2.

Mark stole my T2 and ran a 12.7 at 115mph at the jap show.

Quite chuffed with that

Boost is quite high in the midrange, (by no means too high) dies off but they all do that, the turbo\'s simply are not big enough to flow higher boost at the top end. Its prob really struggleing to pull cleanly through the rev range low down. That fueling really is past the point of slightly off though, to the point of.. really not good.

Quote from: m1tch;523569*gives sticker for most improved FC* lol what rear wheels are you running?

I just checked on the rx7 store for the T78, it says its max power RWHP is 430, so 421 at the fly is pretty good :) and thats only at 1bar :D

The engine was a freebee that came in the cab, its been rebuilt by someone oop north, maybe Pip, but he does not recall the customer. Its a bit of an unknown so i dare not push it over a bar. If it manages a year on track i\'ll push up the boost.

I should also thank the chaps at RXmotors and REworx for answering my often inane questions, and supplying bits that we um.. lost and broke.

Prof, curve is not that bad, will back up the dyno and pull the graphs off when i can.

I need to order a jacket for the turbo hot side as well, the under bonnet temps are stupid.

I\'m not entirely sure, I bought the whole set for £200. Rear tyres are 255, however they are all Firestones straight from Japan and are not what i\'d call the greatest in the world.

Basic update is the FC made 421bhp (fly) at 1 bar on sat, thanks to a cancelled day we managed to sit and play with the map for a while.  Its helped that we think the engine has a mild street port.  Graphs will follow when i get them off the dyno.

Its been running 360ish for a couple of weeks and even at that its a bit scary. Took it out today to go get a quote to get the external WG plumbed back in (its so loud its actually painfull in the car) and its deeply scary, it will on occasion spin up the rear in 3rd, and by god its fast!

Things to do now are get it weighed and corner weighted (and be disapointed i\'ve not made my 1000Kg aim, then start with the carbon fibre bits) and get it back to the paint shop to make right all the things they ****ed up the first time.

Hopefully then i might even get to do a track day in it! Lets see how long it takes for me to blow it up!

I\'m really pleased with the way its turned out, thanks must go out to Prof and others on this board who have helped out, and of coarse my friends Mark (who helps me out on the dyno) and Ed at Fusion motorsport who despite never having even seen an FC before took on much of the reassembly of the car.

I\'m afraid to say the Cab has gone to Seven heaven. :(

2nd generation RX-7's / Got a couple of issues

Good to see you Prof. Hope you managed to get those connectors off lol

We found a couple more things at the weekend:

Defo a 1.1 bar spring. Going to try and get a new one sorted next week

The fuel pressure keeps fecking off when it comes on boost. I think it might be a pump ground issue, going to play with the multimeter this week and see what i can come up with.

Its ok Prof, problem solved, i had a good look at it yesterday afternoon and got my head round it, it was a plumbing problem lol. Also swapped the instruments which seems to have solved that problem as well.

There is still a free door and wing sitting at mine for you though ;)

Cheers prof, still have the BAC, so will find the screw on that and have a play.

I\'ve tried putting the other pump assembly on the car and it still goes to max, with the water temp thing as well, i\'m thinking there must be a ground somewhere i\'ve not connected. The water temp sensor is connected and reading because i\'m getting good readings on the Power FC.

Will also try and get it MOT\'d this week as well.
