General Technical / Yellow goo inside oil cap?
May 02, 2007, 06:03:57 PM
I posted the same worry a few weeks ago, mine looked pretty much the same.

Got a few replies seems it could be normal?
I don\'t seem to be loosing coolant either, so still a little confused.

General Technical / Too much mayo?

I\'m a bit worried about the amount of mayo under the oil filler cap.

I\'ve read that quite a lot of people get this regularly, but it just looks to me like I have quite a bit of it No signs of it when I check the oil level on the dip stick.

Took some pics, would like to know what people think (normal/abnormal?)

Cheers

Update: Ken at Shine Auto just got back to me with this:

"Sure thing. But that lip is already priced very low. There\'s not going to be much of a discount. Depending on how many you guys need I can give you a shipping quote.

The best price we can do is $140 each."

Marco just spotted yer post, sounds like an idea.

is that any use for you?

some more pics there, ideal if you want a \'nice n simple\' style splitter.
I\'m pretty tempted by the feed style skirts they have, but can\'t really afford it at the moment:(

If people are interested in a group buy on that front splitter, I could email shine auto and see if they\'ll do a discount.

Or is it just Marco and me?

Quote from: FreddyI\'ve seen this car in flesh, it\'s a customers car.

The splitter is made by a company called ASR IIRC.

HTH

 :)

Thanks Freddy, any idea where I might be able to get one?
I just tried searching for the company, but nothing relevant is comin up.

Similar happened to me last saturday, on the way to my mates.
Clutch got lower and lower each time I changed gear, till it was flat to the floor. I was lucky that I got parked up at my mates when it finally went.

Strange thing is I just went to tell my mate that I thought the clutch has gone, then we both came out and didn\'t find any leaking. Tried pumping the peddle a bit and noticed the clutch started to raise back up.

Decided to take a risk and drive it back home and it seems ok now. Not sure what to do about it since it\'s back to normal...

Glad it didn\'t fail in traffic though!

Yeah I was the same hehe, looks like there are quite a few of us around this area. I\'ve been spotting a few mystery rex drivers lately.

Was in my black FD, didn\'t have time to get the window down and wave.

Just took the car to Nick  for MOT yesterday and saw 2 FDs in the workshop. One stock looking in silver and one in red with a bodykit.

Apparently the red one was having engine probs after being taken to a place in Doncaster for it\'s MOT.:( Hope it\'s not too serious.

Anybody on here?
