Items For Sale / Mazda rotary wrist watch
October 26, 2012, 02:01:31 PM
Hi guys,

Just thought I would give a heads up on here.  I am selling a limited edition rotary watch.

The link below is a mobile Internet link so if doesn\'t work try
item no: 160909293816

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=160909293816&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=91117060714

Please don\'t ask me for a buy it now, as I am after as much as I can get for it really (with Christmas fast looming, kids presents etc)  and don\'t really know what price to put on it.
Hope that\'s ok with forum rules regarding no price

Thanks,
Any questions prob best to ask on eBay as will probably be able to check that more regularly than the forum

3rd generation RX-7's / Locking problems
August 01, 2009, 12:13:20 PM
had this problem on a 106, where it had a little electric solenoid to lock the boot.  so when i tried to lock it, it sounded like it was trying but it didn\'t have the force to move it.  the cogs inside where just knackered.  replaced it from one in a scrap yard and hay presto.  Cant remember if FD\'s have a similar system or not though.

3rd generation RX-7's / DILEMA! RX7 or Evo 6

I had a standardish FD until water seals failed.  I then went single turbo and when i sold it was running about 485bhp.  I did absolutely love it and it was blisteringly quick.  Be it the fact it blew up 3 times in 12 months (elec fault that didnt get found until the end)

I have since owned a mint red Tommi Mak evo 6, and then a white gsr that i bought with a dead engine and had norris designs fit a fully forged engine, ralli art ecu, running 1.5 bar etc.  I wacked a later evo 8 MR turbo on it to

They are completely different cars, it depends what you want it for.  I got a little bored of the evo as it was just too good a car.  It is rapid, handles very well, is so easy to drive, can take 5 people all day long and get over speed bumps still.  requires no exterior modification as it is what it is.  I dont think much could have kept with me on country roads, and i def couldnt have cornered in a rear wheel drive like i did in the evo, all year round.

But with all this in mind it didnt excited me everytime i drove it like the rex.
Think it goes down to what you are using it for, 2nd car, only car etc
where you live etc

Saying all this as i regularly drive back roads and have a kid on the way, i would love another evo as it is such a practical car.

Although neither of these cars are as fun as my R32 drift car with 2 way diff etc, that is most def the most fun car i have ever driven.

3rd generation RX-7's / Coolant type

I would strongly advise against it as some don\'t mix well.   From what i have been told, red and orange are fine to mix, green, yellow and blue are ok to mix.  but not between the two eg. red and green is a no no.

Glad the veilside kit has gone, as i felt that really let the car down (tripple that is)

Quote from: rx7veilside;527237i only used tuners to work on mine never touched it myself and still needed 3 engines in 4 years
i never thrashed it it allways warmed it up warmed it down only used recommended tuner parts culdnt have pampered it more
i merely am offering the non rose tinted view of the rotary then people can make their own minds up

I went through 3 engines in 10-11 months as a few people know.......... bit of a pain in the ar$e and disheartening but there was an electrical fault with the car.    these things happen, i am very much on the hunt for another rex now as have got bored of evo\'s etc.

What other engine can you simply wack a turbo on with a rebuild and treble the power the engine arrived with?
Trying doing that with a skyline and you would have just spent £40k as suppose to about £5-6k

I am not against V8 conversions, think they are really interesting and have their place but the rotary engine is well up there with one of the best designed engines of all time.

3rd generation RX-7's / parts
July 27, 2008, 02:27:05 PM
For used parts its always worth giving AtomicRex a shout.  They also have a nice few bits for sale to improve you rex.  But there full range will be visable when there website and shop is up and running.  But its always worth looking in there section or giving them a call.

Very much depends what sort of thing you are after.  That is a bit to broad a statement.  Give some example of parts you are after?  new or second hand?
