Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Mx5??

I actually made money on my Mx5, took a bit of punt when buying, no mot or tax, but it was solid which is all that mattered in my eyes.

You will have loads of fun buddy, its quite a novelty driving within the speed limit and still feeling like you are going fast. :)

I had Gaz Golds on mine, but was never really happy with them, but they do get good reviews, maybe something just wasnt right, i just couldnt get them set up how i wanted it to feel.

There are a wealth of others to choose from and all the usual suspects, Teins, BC, Meister R etc

Mx5nutz is a good forum and the lovely thing about Mx5\'s is everything and anything is cheap and readily available as there are so many around :)

They weigh so little in base form is there any point stripping them out, i would say keep it as a nice usable/comfortable car on the road too :)

I enjoyed my mk1, 70mph felt very quick through twisty a and b roads. Just sort the suspension and your on to a winner, road or track :)

Far from being "all sad", i just think its a completely dismissive comment regarding other manufacturers etc with regard to what Loeb and Peugeot have just achieved. Added to that your "tarmac" comment, you obviously dont rate Loeb and his achievements, although as pointed out, you only have to look at the 2nd place time to realise his performance was awesome.

Quote from: Will66;860340Loeb\'s toight, but what Grant said, I\'d like to see some other big manufacturers at the Peak.

Ah well, seems there is no pleasing some people. Motorsport must be very dull for you with all the, ah but if they were there or he was driving... :WaveBye

Quote from: Will66;860332How much of the Pikes Peak record is Loeb\'s talent and how much is the fact the whole route is tarmac now?

Loebs time - 8.13

Rhys Millen (former record holder) - 9.02

I will let you work it out ;)

F1 dominated by tyres this year, even more so than last. We are no longer watching the quickest car with the quickest driver, we are watching whichever team uses the tyres the best.

Hardly motorsport at its peak which is what F1 is "supposed" to be all about.

Pikes Peak though, Loeb smashing the record by 92 seconds!!!!!!!!!!

Estate agents are the ones who should be stoned for putting forward houses already under offer ;)

I believe the Police are not insured, not in the way you and me are apparently.

I found it came naturally with maturity/age and i dont mean that in an arrogant way. Also the state of the roads these days, its pretty pointless charging around like a nutter as there is just too much traffic and generally you wont get anywhere much quicker unless you are prepared to take significant risks or drive like a total tool! Especially in town.

I was followed the other day in rush hour traffic through town by this guy and i have never seen such appalling driving, he would leave a gap then accelerate within inches of my bumper, hang there for a bit, drop back and repeat the process time and time again, the road ahead of me was line to stern of cars, i couldnt have gone any faster if i wanted to, he was getting so wound up, you could see him seething in the mirror!

What would make someone like that slow down, nothing, well maybe death! He obviously did not have the intelligence to realise it was rush hour and someone can only go as fast as the traffic would allow.

Personally i think its all down to character, no amount of signs, speed cameras etc will slow some people down as they think they are above it all and they will never get caught or crash.

Accidents and deaths will always happen on the roads, its the only the road safety partnership and health and safety bods that think they can prevent accidents.

You might find Ross still does mapping at Dragon, but dont quote me on that.

Really enjoyed my Mx5 whilst i stepped back from Rx7\'s for a year or so. Although it was a bbr turbo it was rewarding and fun to drive and that was well below licence loosing speeds, 70mph in one of these really feels like it and more.

Very popular conversion on 350z also.

As for anyone or actual shops doing it over here i am not to sure, i would search google under car tablet installers.
