3rd generation RX-7's / Another boring intro...
October 18, 2006, 01:32:15 PM
Welcome. Sounds like what you\'re looking for is what I\'m selling :) Blatent plug there ;)

Recent rebuild (less than a month ago), safe reliable mods so as not to over exert the engine plus the PFC and Commander.

What ever one you end up getting, I\'m sure you\'ll love it. These cars are amazing to drive and tonnes of fun.

That is an awsome looking install - rest of the inside from what I can see looks pretty smart as well. Colour works really well. Great job.

3rd generation RX-7's / ECU\'s

Quote from: rotaryart.uk.comHave a Motec M800 & ADL dash to go in one car, if it ever gets finished, and a M4Pro thats should be going in to our drift car.

That dash setup is cool :)

Not that I can\'t afford it at the mo\', but what does that setup and the ECU cost?

3rd generation RX-7's / Mapping Question
May 15, 2006, 09:24:07 PM
So, the question is, is mapping something you should do like as regular maintenance? Or is it something you just do once, and then just when you change something or modify something?

Had it mapped at Re:Worx on their rolling road - just wondered if its something I should consider doing every so often?

Very nice - if only I had paid more attention in metal work at school :)

3rd generation RX-7's / stopped by police

I never liked the sticky license plate - thought on a smart looking car, it looked tacky - just a personal opinion.

I\'ve also got C-West front end - check out the picture on my web site below. I had some brackets made up at a specific angle, then got a squarer number plate made up.

Being at an angle, I still get a decent amount of air flow going in.

Quote from: pete sparrowI just made a holder for mine.It bolts onto one of the dash mountings under the gear box centre consol,so no drilling involved. One strip of sheet ali, some double sided velcro and a squirt of matt black spray paint. Sorted!! Can take some pics tomorrow and post them for you????

Yeah, go for it if its no bother - thanks.

Good thing about the holder is I can take it out and put it in the glove box. More useful to be able to see it whilst driving to monitor water temp and such.

Quote from: Ricco_04I got a classy mobile phone holder for £2, same colour as the pfc and holds it very well.  Can hardly even see the holder behind it!  :cheers

Know where from and what type?

£50+ is what I\'d heard for the proper jobbies - a lot of money or a bit of plastic ;)

Was hoping someone would tell me so and so sells an imitation for £20 :)

Anyone know the best, and by best, I mean cheapest :) place to get the above from? Now that I\'m finally looking at putting a stereo in the car, there won\'t be a hole to rest it in anymore - not that I could exactly see what the readings were with it in there anyway :)

Cheers

3rd generation RX-7's / interior trim on ebay
April 18, 2006, 07:54:07 PM
ah, sorry, cross purposes. No its not Freddy selling them on ebay (at least I doubt it).

Freddy is the guy who owns Transcar Imports - which is in the vendor section. I think he said my ones were imported from Japan. He did say at the time they were expensive and didn\'t think they were worth the money, but I insisted, cos I think they really do give the interior a nice finish.

What seller are you talking about? As mentioned in my for sale advert, I got mine from Freddy (Transcars). It came as a full replacement part. Means you get a much better quality finish as someone has already done it for you - rather then you just trying to stick transfers on the plastic.

I\'ll sell you my one if you want. Price is £10.5k, and I\'ll throw in a free car ;)

Mine came as a full replacement part. Took the old dash off, replaced it with the new one that already had the carbon fibre effect on it. Good quality, and no hassle with sticking stuff on - cos it was already on there.

I think the carbon effect looks great, if done properly. Both RX7\'s I\'ve had, have had this on them.

Quote from: D1 WTFmy car has a proper fog light switch, same as any of the other buttons etc, it is n\'t an after market switch.  so all i need is some sort of light to indicate when it is on?  could be anything such as a little LED next the switch?

My car has a switch for the fog light in the same place as yours. The switch itself has a little LED light actually on the switch, which turns on when the switch is in the on position.

If you want to see, you can just about make it out from one of the interior shots that I posted today on my sale thread (see link below). It\'s the middle switch that controls the rear fog. Don\'t confuse it with the other red LED you see on the console. That\'s for the alarm.
