im just thinking, if i bought a car with tax n mot, but didnt insure it that day (say you brought it back on a flatbed), you would be eligible for the fine... i just dont see how that makes sense to those dvla peeps.

Saying that, perhaps swansea is not the best place to put the DVLA. they have redone the roads into the city, and its a complete balls up. for example. there is one section where all you can do is go straight ahead, not left, not right, just ahead. how many Traffic lights you reckon you need. 1, perhaps 2 for extra visibility?

no.

9. Nine lights for one side of a junction. complete waste of taxpayers money!!!!!!

dvla are just................ useless. like you said, i think your right dont tax or insure and your invisible on their systems, as long as you avoid the road tax cams and are driving about in the country, they would never find you. in my opinion they should be paying US for improving the quality of cars on the road - Ford KA\'s etc, they are ugly mofos, and should pay more for it.

i wonder if anyones ever tried converting the rear seats into some kind of single seater chaise long (if thats how you spell it) could look quite cool and you would have a unique 3 seater car :)

Sweet, chees brett! on the other end of the scale, both my best mate and gf are rather small characters, how small are those back seats? am i better thinking of them as extra storage rather than passenger holds?

Very cool! good to know if and inevitably when i need parts! - its a shame how little of these cars i see nowadays. growing up as a lad around london i remember seeing loads of these and the old Celica-Supras (Another car i am keen to try and get before they are all consigned to the scrap) around town, but its been months since i saw an FB. i blame that stupid scrappage scheme!!!!

EDIT: Just wanted to ask another question thats only just come to mind - whats it being a tall driver in these cars? im 6\'3/6\'4, so am i going to be getting friction burn from the roof lining?

Which games were these in particular john? i know norton can have a habit of killing of Punkbuster clients that run in the background, this has been a problem for a friend before. like Iaint says, its most likely that there isnt an exception in the firewall list for Steam, and thats why it wont boot your games, im not sure how easy it is for you to add this but if your still having problems im sure i can find a tutorial or something...

that is one exceptional find there Ian, if only im so lucky (and i doubt it!) - im eager to buy a car that i can tinker away at myself, rather than have to take to my mechanic etc everytime something goes wrong!

is there quite a parts market available for me to replace some of the more perishable items?

Gumtree this one is, south london if i remember. and no, not much more info than that really, ive asked for more as im going to have to have a bit more info before i travel back to come see the rx.

also, MUCHAS GRACIAS for the rust guide, needless to say ill be bringing a printout of that along with me!!

also, how gold is maya gold, am i going to look like its straight out of saturday night fever?

Been talking to a chap thats trying to sell this RX-7,

Only pic i have at the moment, and really dont know anything about the car, other than its been in storage for best part of a decade, but ran first time when given a start last week.

Anyone know of this car at all? also, anything i should be particularly aware of if i do go and take an investigate?

Cheers,

Quote from: rx7.eu;811218Hi Swansea man, I was born in Mount Pleasant

Know the place well, been living on the various streets of Mount Pleasant for years (Norfolk Street, Woodlands Terrace etc....)

Thanks for the info guys! ive seen shaunwills thread with his LPG\'d RX7, looks like it took a while to achieve but has worked for him in the end! - its still something i really want to look into, but was wondereing if there were any LPG conversion companies that specialized in rotaries.

Also, in terms of repair/restoration costs, what am i looking at? im used to being able to find every part under the sun for my golf at relatively cheap prices from scrappies and parts merchants, but whats the parts market like for the earlier RX\'es?

Looking through the FAQ\'s and things ive seen quite a bit of mention to do with rust, is this the big killer of these early cars? ive been chatting with a guy whos had one for the last 15 years, but its been in a lockup unmoved for the best part of a decade and he\'s looking to get rid of it now, anything i should be especially wary of on old barn finds?

And thanks for the warm welcome guys!!
