General Technical / low oil pressure? please help!

^^ thanks dude I shall check all of these tomorrow, hope it\'s just the sender that\'s faulty. If the engine has to come out I guess may aswell rebuild it? I\'ve really wanted to rebuild a rotary and I think if it had to come out that would be the chance? Thanks again for your huge reply :)

General Technical / low oil pressure? please help!
February 09, 2011, 07:45:43 PM
Hi, ive not long owned my rx7, just over 3 months now and last night i noticed my oil pressure had dropped. It used to idle at around 30- 40 and when driving around 90 but as i was driving it was staying at 50 :(. It still drives fine, no smoke or spluttering, starts first time every time hot or cold and i checked the oil and water, everything seems fine? Please help :Thumbs-up

If this is signs of needing a rebuild then id have to get some extra time in at work to afford the rebuild kit.

thanks in advance.

Haaa cheers guys, I did say that to him but thought he told me it was a special pot for oil as I know nothing about rotarys DOH! Is it normal ATF you guys use that\'s red? As this is golden colour just like the oil...that\'s what got me confused. Think I may have to drain it out and fill with fresh. Il get some pics up when i finish work!

Thanks Gaz.

Hi there, my names Gaz I\'ve owned my rx7 fc for just over 2 weeks now and thought it was about time I joined up. I\'m 22 years old and have worked in a back street garage since I left school. I\'ve had a few different motors already, one being a Monster truck and another a skyline, I\'ve always wanted a rotary engine but was too scared to get one until now as of all the \'TNT\' like Engine comments I keep hearing. Anyway like I said I\'ve had it for about 2 weeks and all seems well. The one thing I\'m concerned about is the other little dip stick that says \'twist to close\' or something like that? What\'s this for? Seems like oil is in it but never worked on a rotary before. I did search it but found nothing...any help would be really appreciated :)

Thanks
Gaz
