the offset should be fine for the kit which is going on it but i didnt like the idea of going wider than 9.5" fronts really. Its just these wheels have come up secondhand at a good price but thought i would ask before going ahead and buying them.

I have been looking for some wheels for a friend who is having a re A JGTC style kit put on his car. I have found some with a great offset and size for the rear but im sure the fronts are way too wide. what will happen to suspension components and steering parts if i add these wheels:

Front 18x11 -3 offset
Rear 18x12 -6 offset

so ethanol is different to methanol?? Ive got loads of methanol for my water injection system. From what i understand after 2 mins of googling methanol is refined ethanol, or is that incorrect??
#6
I have read on here that using a 10% mix of ethanol in your fuel will help you get your car through the emissions test as last year mine was around 8-9%CO. IS this true and if so where can i get the stuff from:3Confused

cheers

General Technical / Noob asking about v8\'s

tinker, what sort of prices do you quote for this conversion? I know this will depend on the engine used, but, say for example, an LS1 engine tuned to approx 500BHP. Do you supply a drive in, drive out price and how long does the conversion normally take?

I bought a GT40 from //www.cheapturbos.com . Seems pretty good, spools to 1bar at around 4-4.5K, 1.25bar is under 5K. I got 380rwhp at a bar, with methanol and higher boost im hoping to see well over 400 atw.

my brother has had single turbo setups for these on his supra and skyline, my mates supra also had it and anothers 200sx. They all seemed fine, and never had anyproblems with cracking, turbos or fitment. I guess they have all been lucky then??!!

General Technical / what clutch?
June 08, 2007, 06:40:47 PM
i have a racing beet 6puk clutch plate with the ACT pressure plate. Its rediculous to get used to. I remember stalling it about 1 in 10 times in traffic, after about 6months i found it ok though. good thing its never slipped once though. I tried to launch the car off the lights once and the 275 tyres i have slipped in 1 2 and 3rd gear. The clutch was fine though!

Had a look on the net and the only place i can find that sells different springs for tial wastegates is a place in the USA. Surely there must be some UK sellers out there??

seems like a few people are running without resistors but i decided to use them. Bought mine from maplins for 40p each

what is the big black sensor at the throttle body end of the UIM as seen in the pic? come to think of it, whats the blue one too.

I had a really bad stuttering problem the other day, and the car wouldnt go more than 10feet before it would cut out. The idle was really high too. I then noticed a really loud bizzing noise from the engine bay and after disconnecting a white plug that goes into this black unit the buzzing stopped and i was able to drive the car again (limped it home as didnt want to do any damage with the sensor detatched). the revs were a little higher than normal at 1400rpm but nothing like as bad as the 2600rpm it was before i disconnected it.

Anyone have any ideas as to what it does and why it would make my car do this.
