1st generation RX-7's / Cheap T-cut

When I was a kid my brother & I borrowed the battery from the old man\'s Rover SD1 (v8), we used for some hair-brained scheme, returned it and no-one new a thing until it came off the tray, hit the fan and wrecked everything and anything that got in the way! At least now on my RX7 I have a quality bungee strap to retain the battery.

I think T-cut has a bit of an unjustly bad reputation, fair enough I\'d never pay full price as that would make it more expensive than "proper" compounds,  but for this price I\'m happy to make use of it. If I\'m cutting the paint on a car that has some dents and blisters then it\'s fine in my book! To be fair, I\'ll make use of anything that\'s cheap or free!
PS It\'s good for polishing metal too!

I have been waiting for somebody to realise that they\'ve screwed up the price so have been buying a bottle with each petrol purchase (£25 as the tank leaks above that!), I guess I now have xmas presents sorted!:Santa

It\'s still 2-tone! I\'ve been flatout busy for the past few months and so the important things in life have been coming second. On the plus side I bought BPA 702Y off the bay last week and so have been increasing my carbon footprint these past few evenings!

Looks like you get the insurance deal, I know my glass excess is higher if I go "outside" but no doubt I will just end up with A***glass anyway. Also my car is not completely as stated on the insurance docs. (but not on the road either) so a realistic approach would be handy. Send me a mail to: steve@major-bros.co.uk

Thanks for all the replies, especially the clips link. Looks like an insurance job then as I don\'t fancy traveling the UK\'s scrapyards busting \'screens as I go!

Easy (dumb) question;
is the windscreen bonded? As I bought my car without a \'screen & with filler and paint up the pillars it\'s hard to tell! Also, I seem to be missing the small central joining piece for the 2 top cover trims, can anyone recommend a supplier for this piece?
Cheers,
Steve

A couple of, hopefully, interesting points about stainless steel (SS) before anybody throws back their newly bought stainless parts;
SS is steel with added chromium>10% + sometimes additional elements.
2 types of SS are magnetic; ferretic and martensitic, martensitic grades can be found in fasteners & cutlery.
409 is a ferretic grade (magnetic) & has the lowest chromium content of any SS, it was designed as a cheap material for exhausts which shows!

I hope I haven\'t come across as an @ss, these are just the useless pub quiz type of things that rattle around upstairs!

Has anyone run 12a power down the 1/4 mile?

I am thinking of doing a few RWYB with mine, looking to then strip and lighten things until the engine loses interest, I am not bothered if it takes me 1 episode of Emmerdale to do the first run, more of a tightwads experiment where a starting point/ goal would be good!
Cheers,

Unfortunately(?) the burgundy interior is in pretty good condition, plenty of shag pile left on the carpets etc! that\'s why I was leaning towards a brandywine/dark plum candy but then it\'s loads of extra work and I\'d rather be driving it this summer than being reminded about another unfinished project!
Mods; does anybody keep the 12a lump or should I just swap it straight out? I\'m not mad for original but keeping the 12a is appealing it just seems new parts (seals etc) are non existent?
