Have you still got this? I sent a message to the above number yesterday.
Thanks.

I\'m fairly interested in this. What is the actual price though? You\'ve got this in 3 threads ranging from £2450 to £850 Ono.

On eBay you say it\'s got a slipping clutch. How bad is this? Could it be driven around 250 miles?

What was used for the compression results and how accurate are they?

Have you performed \'the champagne test\'? And what were the results?

Thanks

Quote from: David Nock;783043Keep an eye on the \'How Many 1st Gens left\' Sticky post in the 1st Gen Forum.

Most cars advertised appear in there within hours. From Ebay, Pistonheads, and a lot more sites.

Good hunting Ross.

Dave

Thanks for that Dave, I\'ll keep my eye out.

Just a pity that this one falls right in budget and doesn\'t look too bad really.

I\'m guessing you must be fairly close to me (Lincolnshire) so if you hear of anything nearby cheaply enough Dave could you let me know please.

Cheers

I\'m thinking it is now a buggered guage as I took it for a drive last night and it did feel quite quick and next to no movement on the guage. I can hear the turbo spooking away and chuffing back through the airfilter and the speedo is certainly moving rapidly enough.

I think it was all in my head as I wasn\'t seeing boost on the guage.

There could be a few electrical gremlins with the gauges and warning lights on this car as when I dropped the beast (wife) at work this morning an alarm sounded and a picture of a radiator illuminated in red on the dash. A quick check revealed a full rad and expansion tank and a perfectly healthy temp reading. As soon as I set off it all went out again.

Do I know how to purchase quality vehicles or what!!

Yes.... Frustrated.

After :censored::censored::censored::censored:ing around under the car with the trusty mig and a pair of mole grips for far longer than it should have taken I finally got the arm on and welded. However, next to no extra boost! I reckon the actuator might be shafted after all. The boost guage is only rising to the the 2nd block at best and that\'s not even all the time.

What should the boost guage rise to and what does that equate to in either psi or bar? I may try a spare ebc I have kicking around and see if that can liven up the old girl. I\'m not expecting it to be as quick as my gtr but it just lacks that punch although it revs nice and strong and has a very linear feeling power curve.

Off topic but is anyone else on here around Lincolnshire?

Thanks again chaps

*UPDATE*

After swearing like a trooper this morning removing that damn useless piece of w4nk heatshield, I\'ve found that the actuator rod has indeed \'freed\' itself from the wastegate

Unfortunately I have no circlip of the correct size so will be attaching a blob of weld to the pin on the wastegate arm later to hold the sucker down.

Hopefully there will be much of this :3gears-lh this evening.

While under the car I\'ve also spotted a stainless downpipe (roughly 2.5") and a decat plus some unknown lowering springs.

Although not making boost I\'m still loving the car and thinking that even an EGI must be fairly quick. And if naturally aspirated rotaries are quick then a gen 1 might be a future purchase worth considering. Infact I\'m really wanting one now!

These weird wankel boxes may get quite addictive.... HELP :Viking

Well what can I say?....

LOL

That\'s all.

This is one poorly car :Laugh

It\'s not too bad and is saveable but ilhave I found some issues.

No boost pressure. Ive reached down to the actuator rod and have found massive amounts of slop in it but due to those clever engineers at Mazda hiding the blower in the most awkward place ever, I can\'t confirm wether the actuator is screwed or just the arm has popped off the wastegate. At least until I get it on a ramp and view from underneath. Someone has clearly attempted to play with it though as the heat shield is loose and only held on with one bolt.

The radiator has K-seal headgasket fixer in it. I\'m guessing to cure a leaky bottom hose but this may prove to be more sinister.

The heater fan works fine but has no direction control. I assume this is due to a small section of the trunking that I found in the armrest :Hammer

Also in the arm rest was a screwdriver and wood screws so I have no doubt that some part of the car is fixed together with wood screws. Nice

Whilst driving there\'s a fair smell of fuel occasionally which is probably a leaky vac pipe or similar. Is there a common problem along these lines?

After a decent journey there\'s an oh so refreshing smell of gear oil entering the cabin. I have found a leak yet but this also requires further investigation.

The paintwork.....

LO f***ing L

Surely painted by stevie wonders guide dog with a cannon. it\'s truly immense :Laugh

I feel sorry for Ben who I bought it from because whoever took £1400 off him for it bent him over good style.

There are probably thousands more interesting issues yet to be discovered but despite all of this I actually quite like it.

Oil pressure seems very good. 62 at 75mph and 45 at idle. The engine sounds sweet and there is a \'rotechnics\' sticker under the bonnet so I\'m going to see if they\'ve done any work to it in the past.

It\'s a turd but I\'ll put it right.

Cheers for now

What\'s the chances of a 1990 turbo II having an LSD fitted?

Ok thanks guys. One other question then is what should I be searching for in eBay. What I mean is that I\'ve seen stuff titled: fc3 fc3s turbo II s5 all sorts that baffles me.
The cqr I\'m hopefully getting is a 1990 turbo II cab which I assume is 180bhp not the 200bhp.

Sorry for all the dumb questions but I\'ve always had pistons before :)
