I\'ve really enjoyed owning this car, she\'s very fun, and regularly put a smile on my face! It got a lot of attention at shows and lots of love from America and the guys on StanceNation. I\'m part of LowlifeUK, hence the Try Harder sticker on the windscreen. I\'ll be sad to get rid of her, but she just doesn\'t get used any more and I\'m saving to go travelling.
She has always been a bit of a toy, but with the welded differential (easily swappable for an open one sourced from Mazdarotaryclub) she was roughly set up as a drift car. Unfortunately I didn\'t have enough money in the whole time I have owned her to actually take drifting back up, so she\'s not been used in anger afterall!

Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230944309350

MOT - Sept 2013. She is SORN atm, can be taxed at buyers cost for convenience if needed.

Spec:
A full set of satin black Mitsi Starion wheels, VERY good tyres all round (even if the rears are balloons!)
HKS mushroom air filter
2.5 JDM catless downpipe, decatted straight through exhaust to some subtle backboxes - sounds quite interesting for a rotary, very quiet on idle and a nice purr, but sounds great when you come onto boost.
Cusco front and feed rear coilovers (feeds have adjustable damping)
Rolled and pulled rear arches
Rolled and pulled front arches
Aftermarket steering wheel - flat and cheap, just what I had laying around. Boss is good for anything though!
Almost mint leather seats - even the drivers bolster is perfect. Su (pics upon request)
Tinted rear lights, front and side repeaters
Electric mirrors and roof
Airpump/emissions gubbins removed. All included in sale
Dual alternator belt pulley (needed for safety if airpump disconnected/removed)
Magnecor KV85 HT leads
Welded diff
DTSS eliminator bushes, to eliminate the \'rear steer\' these cars came with. Right arse of a job!
Dark grey aluminium bonnet (far lighter than steel version)
CAT1 alarm and immobiliser fitted, paperwork to prove.

Other good points:
Not rusty - we had to do some welding to get her on the road originally, now nice and solid
Rebuild engine at 73K - receipts etc to show, and in the time I\'ve owned her she\'s not flooded once, unlike most rotaries
LOTS of history etc
The roof can be run as a targa, which is much nicer for motorway cruising. The wind deflector built into the \'parcel shelf\' is the best thing ever! I\'ve been in many convertibles since this, and never found anything as good.
Haynes manual included

Bad:
Drivers door has a big dent in, I have a friend who is breaking his black FC \'vert and I, or the owner of this car has dibs on the door. It is based by Heathrow.
Paint peeled on the edges of the front arches from rubbing/rolling, no rust though
The rear half of the roof is shagged, leaks and needs replacing, this is where they all go unfortunately. I have some roof vinyl pieces that can be glued or stitched in.
The car was broken into during my ownership, and the N/S quarterlight window was smashed. This has been replaced with a vinyl sheet. The stereo was stolen, but that is all - still no stereo fitted.

Can come with, upon negotiation:
R-magic ECU (caters for 0.9 bar boost, filter, exhaust, FMIC)
Very lightened flywheel
3" catback exhaust - with the decat this is VERY loud, hence not running it atm.
Spare passenger cloth seat
Blitz MFCS - plug and play multifuel computer system that fits in next to the standard ECU and allows you to adjust fuelling. Best run with wideband monitoring or similar.
Spare red front and rear bumpers and TII sideskirts. The vert doesn\'t come with sideskirts from factory.
New, standard front and rear brake pads
Standard 15" BBS wheels

This was dyno\'d at 220bhp at about 7\'000rpm with the wastegate actuator opening uncontrolled. (the car hit 0.6 bar boost, but was massively leaking boost) This is now fixed and she boosts from just over 2.5K rpm at stock boost, 0.45 bar, very strongly thanks to the exhaust and filter. At 0.7 bar+ or so (achievable with the ECU fitted and a decent boost controller) she would be fantastic! Due the the rotary design, very minor mods, like those I\'ve done, make a big difference.

The switches in the centre console are for the headlights, due to the switch not working properly - although I have a spare, untried one of these too!

The car is dry because I have a car cover over the roof, so don\'t worry about rot inside!

Any questions, feel free to ask!

I\'ve got this front lip for her too, it\'s just not attached atm. Obviously thrown in free:

Bump up again!

They are indeed.

The rears poke a bit, with 215\'s and a flare or 205\'s and stock arches, rolled lips, they\'d be spot on. My rear arches have a pretty big flare on them - at least an inch of pull each side.

The front\'s need a 10mm spacer to clear the caliper, although I\'d run a 20mm spacer out of choice, but I\'m not forking out for 20mm hub-centric spacers, just to sell the car!
(there\'s a knobble on the calipers that, even with 10mm spacers on, you have to file down a bit. But this is quite safe, as long as you don\'t go too far! The next problem, and the reason for 20mm\'s, besides fitment, is that the stock studs are barely long enough to run 10mm slip-ons.)

2nd generation RX-7's / I need a replacement TPS guys
October 03, 2012, 07:36:08 PM
Can anyone help? I\'m trying to sell the RX7 atm, but the TPS is giving a really bad reading, and the car judders while cruising. The resistance is COMPLETELY off, further off than can be adjusted back to what it should be, so it must be shot.

I can fit one, and set it up - I\'ve re set it up before, I just need one! Mazda are asking extortionate prices, and all I want is for it to work properly!

Thanks guys

The car is a manual 1990 RX7 TII (turbo) cabriolet with 96K on the clock. MOT\'d till September 2013, currently declared SORN.

Boost and oil temp gauges (car has good oil pressure gauge asstandard, the water temp gauge is crap). The oil temp gauge needs the wiring finishing, but sits through the glovebox lid, which has 2 gauge holes cut in it. A sender for a water temp gauge is also fitted into the rad hose, with wiring to the glovebox.
Airpump/emissions gubbins removed. All included in sale
Dual alternator belt pulley (needed for safety if airpump disconnected/removed)

Always, and I mean ALWAYS, run on v-power.

Bad:
Drivers door has a big dent in, a friend still owes me money for this, and I have first dibs on a replacement door from Prof on here, which I should be picking up within a couple of weeks. So expect this to be sorted by the time the car is bought... (door either fitted, or included)
Paint peeled on the edges of the front arches from rubbing/rolling, no rust though
The rear half of the roof is shagged, leaks and needs replacing, this is where they all go unfortunately. I have some roof vinyl pieces that can be glued or stitched in. Might look at this myself over the next few weeks if she doesn\'t sell quickly.

Comes with:
R-magic ECU
Very lightened flywheel
3"catback exhaust - with the decat this is VERY loud, hence not runningit atm.
Spare passenger cloth seat (I have it fitted atm, but I\'m keeping thebucket seat, so you can have both leather seats too)
Any interior trim that isn\'t fitted
Blitz MFCS - plug and play multifuel computer system that fits in next tothe standard ECU and allows you to adjust fuelling. Best run with wideband monitoring or similar.
Spare red front and rear bumpers and TII sideskirts. The vert doesn\'t come with sideskirts from factory.
Newstandard front and rear brake pads
All the air pump and emissions gear

The switches in the centre console are for the headlights, due to the switch not working properly - although I have a spare, untried one of these too! Switches are labelled though.

I can sort some deals out here on price depending on what people want:

EVERTHING for £2500

Bottom price (£2000) on original 15" \'vert BBS\'s (illegal tyres atm, that\'ll be sorted if requested)and with leather seats, but without:
All the extra\'s mentioned above, plus I\'d keep the starion wheels.

The car is dry because I keep the roof covered up, so don\'t worry about rot inside! Also she has a small running problem when cruising atm - under load she is fine. I\'m sourcing a new TPS sensor as the resistance reading the current one is giving is WELL off what it should be. This will fix the problem, I\'ve adjusted it before and it worked, I just think it\'s shagged now.
Lastly, she was broken into a while ago through the passenger side quarter light window. I\'ve fitted a sheet of acrylic in place that works pretty well. The stereo was stolen, and there\'s a mess of wires, but if you\'re any good with wiring, it could be sorted easily. Unfortunately I took the car off the road shortly after, so didn\'t get round to it.

Engine minus airpump etc:

Almost perfect drivers seat, the passenger side is even better:

Roof rips:

I also have a home-made front lip for the car, which will be included. It\'s scruffy, and would need a spray, but a free lip, is a free lip, right?

Thanks mate!

No it\'s not, some kind of flowed hybrid?

Good work though mate, it\'s taking a while, but is definitely worth it! Let me know when Rixxy is coming apart though please, are you still happy to sell the drivers door? (Also, the 1/4 window from the passenger door would be really, really appreciated to replace the acrylic sheet I have in place atm)

I was with a Bora running the MS02 wheels on the way to Belgium for Heaven on wheels. Looks great on the move (although I\'d want 4 of the wider wheels), but I think they\'re hella ugly when stood still (the wheels).

What\'re the wheels on that car above?

ps. Wangan spoilers FTW!

When I replaced my rear calipers I had 2 bolts shear, so just replaced the entire caliper, surely you just need the mounting bracket section? Get a decent sized photo of the part and I MIGHT have a spare.

Dude, did you get a compression tube? Sorry for not getting back to you, I don\'t pay much attention to FB. Answer that, and I\'ll answer you!

Good work though, and yes that link would give you what you needed, just needed 2 belts. Did you sort them?

You need:
Couple of sockets (17mm and 19mm I think), and a socket that you can use to push the old bush out in a BIG vice (mine were so seized in we used a cutter and a hammer in the end). Plusgas or similar would also be good.

Remove wheel
Loosen driveshaft bolt (32mm?)
Remove caliper
Undo hub
Smashinate old bushes out
Press new ones in
Reverse of above.

It\'s time consuming, but if your DTSS bushes aren\'t too hard to get out, it\'s not a particularly challenging job. Go for it IMO! Just on a weekend.
