Following with interest :)  (didnt notice the thread when it went up before)

Prof

I\'ve been busy last weekend and a bit more after that stripping out the wiring looms from Phoenix, the carpet, seatbelt fasteners, pedal box and the last bits around the front. It\'s almost gutted inside now - apart from the hood motors and mechanism, but that\'s because the hood is still on it to keep it dry ;)

Here\'s some progress pics - not much rust at all inside, which is good news - there is a hint of it near the passenger door side sill, as you can just make our - don\'t know what I will find underneath until I get it on the spit jig.

There\'s a couple of external shots, and a pic of rixxy looking sad side by side - he\'ll be the donor for much of the mechanicals...

Some things to look forward to:

Electronically adjusted Konis (my own system), dual exhaust with dual Y valves, quad headlight\'s in the popups, may be HID and HID or HID and LED, not sure yet, bespoke ECU, odbII, hotwire MAF, igbt+plasma ignition, mini oil cooler replacement for the PS cooler, modified light switch, modified wiper switch...

I wish !

I am hoping I might get it done by Rotorstock, but it\'s a lot of work.  It certainly won\'t have the new ECU or some of the other mods on it by Rotorstock

Looking forward to the end product, are you upgrading the turbo?

Prof

Not sure, I am convinced this one has much to give, and I\'ve only started to scratch it\'s surface (well hopefully not literally).  It has spooled to 1.2 BAR with the current intercooler, so with some WI on board and additional fuelling it should easily net the 400 I was looking for...

What turbo are you running? It\'s not a stock one with those figures is it?

Its a Hybrid, all the ease of a stock turbo fitment, with extra puff top end :)

No it\'s not, some kind of flowed hybrid?

Good work though mate, it\'s taking a while, but is definitely worth it! Let me know when Rixxy is coming apart though please, are you still happy to sell the drivers door? (Also, the 1/4 window from the passenger door would be really, really appreciated to replace the acrylic sheet I have in place atm)

There are some marks on the drivers door (where the previous owners kids banged it into a brick pillar), and it will be minus door card, possibly wiring loom, locks and other bits and bobs - but glass, motor and fittings can go with it - happy to do a deal on both doors - as I may struggle to sell the passenger one without some of it\'s glass.

I have some work to do on the conservatory (or her indoors will be beating me :rollin), but it won\'t be long before Rixxy get\'s parted :( He\'s been like and old friend, but his best bits will live on, and if he can keep other cars on the road too - even better. I was always against the clock with regards to rust on him, but phoenix has a better start in life and is 4 years younger too.

Time for an update.

Phoenix is looking a little bare !!

Still to come off the shell - front suspension, rear suspensuon, diff, fuel tank, front inner bumper iron, roof.  Not much to come off now before I get it on the spit roast - and if the weather is kind over the bank holiday weekend, I might just get it there.  Pictures to come this weekend depending on progress.

I have a lot of the parts for the new exhaust system now, custom stainless Y pipe 3" to 2x2.5" done (not by me), just got to order some stainless tubing and Y valves to do the back pipes.  I will be reusing the racing beat rear cans, but replacing all the pipework with 2.5" stainless.  Phoenix will be a dual exit at the back, but with 2 other exits under the car ;)

I\'m just weighing up braking options for the car, think it might be time to take the braking up a notch - but prices scare me silly.

I also have some plans for the turbo - but I\'m keeping that quiet until I know for sure the idea will pan out.

Phoenix will be running 4x800cc SARD\'s on a serial fuel system, a 9-12-16 volt power brick will feed the fuel pump ensuring proper fuel availability at all times and all loads.  Fuel pressure will be a few percent higher to allow for some headroom on the injectors at the top end.

In the mean time I continue to take bits off Rixxy - he\'s missing a lot of dash now and all the electronics are out....
