March 27, 2013, 09:59:20 AM
Hi all. Hoping you could help. I\'m after a pair of 1680cc top feed injectors for my single turbo conversion, and was wondering what the average cost is, what makes are best etc. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Sh*t me........ I now own this car!! :eek Bought it when I was selling my FC EGi.

I absolutely love it, she\'s a real treat to drive. Got some plans for her but nothing too heavy. Keeping it looking pretty stock, and generally tidying it up. Been well and truly bitten by the rotary bug!

If Oli is still on here, do you have any old pics of the car and the old dials for mileage reference?

Thanks

Mike

Loving the cars i\'m seeing in this thread!!

Not had a chance to see them all yet (only on page 5 :Laugh )

Here is my FD Type R next to my old FC EGI before I sold her on.

Got a few things I want to get for her like the front fogs. Would love a facelift bumper but not having much luck at the moment.

Mazda RX7 FC EGI 1989 UK Spec
94000 Miles
Tax & MOT Mid 2012

The time has come for me to sell my FC. I’ve had the car for nearly 3 years now and it’s time for an upgrade.
In the time i’ve owned her i’ve not had any problems at all, with the exception of the original exhaust which was a little porous so I had the whole system changed. The oil has been changed regularly at 2000 â€" 3000 mile intervals, and always allowed to warm up properly. She has been kept in the garage and only brought out when the weather is nice. Due to the age of the car there are a few signs of age. There are the odd signs of rust in a few places on the car, with the rear arches needing the most attention but they’re not that bad. At the last MOT the only fails the car had were, a brake pedal rubber missing, number plate light out and emissions. The emissions aren’t an issue at MOT time due to the age of build of the car. I have paperwork to prove that the car was built before the ‘sniffer’ test was required for rotary engine cars.

Engine Spec

Rebuilt 24000 miles ago
Equal length headers (manifold)
Stainless exhaust from manifold back with Magnaflow back boxes.
K&N Air filter replacement.
Oil and filter changed every 2-3000 miles.

Transmission Spec

Standard 5 speed

Wheels, Suspension & Brakes

Standard wheel

I\'ll have some pictures up over the weekend when I can get her out of the garage.

Open to sensible offers, as I need a quick sale to make room in the garage.

Many thanks

Mike

Thanks guys. From the sounds of things it\'s nothing too drastic. Was worried about a potential gear box rebuild being imminent :wiggle

I\'ll be looking at that during the week and seeing what\'s what :) I\'ll bleed the clutch system too after attending the gear lever.

Much appreciated guys and gals :cheers

It\'s been a small concern since i bought the car, but the gear lever has quite a bit of play in it when both in gear and neutral. I haven\'t had a chance to get the surrounding parts off of the gear lever yet as i\'m currently not living where my FC is kept (car is kept at my dads, and i live a fair few miles away)

I saw on Lacey\'s thread the potential cause for this wobblyness, so will investigate as soon as possible. Would this play be the reason for gears crunching when i\'m accelerating a bit quicker than the norm? Usually get a small grind when changing gears, from 1st to 2nd, then 2nd to 3rd at around 4k+

Thanks

2nd generation RX-7's / FC EGI - Drifter maybe???

Awesome, thanks guys. The MX5 lsd would be the one from the Eunos yeah? From what I gather it\'s a simple install into an FC diff housing?

2nd generation RX-7's / FC EGI - Drifter maybe???

Thanks for the info guys :) Got speaking to a couple of mates who are big into the drifting lark, and as much as i\'d love to give it a stab, i\'m not keen on pranging the car too much. Think the track racer route may be a bit safer... my driving skills depending :Giggle It\'ll also be good to race it, as there\'s not enough FCs racing :( I\'ll keep it on the mind though, should be going to a drift day soon, so may have a dabble in the \'play pen\' and get some practice in.

Anyone know any good roll cage places near Portsmouth should the track day route win over drifting?

2nd generation RX-7's / FC EGI - Drifter maybe???

Have considered forced induction but i would have to change the whole engine as the egi has higher compression rotors :( How easy are hydraulic hand brakes to install?

QuoteExtra horses from an EGI would entail a high flow air filter and mainly exhaust and porting work, I would also sort out the cooling and fit electric fans behind the rad that you can switch on 100% of the time when drifting, radiators only work if air flows through them, going sideways lots means that the rad isn\'t really getting any air through the front lol
lol fair point. Would i be right in thinking that most electric fan kits would suit? Also, for extra horses, i\'m already running a straight through exhaust with equal length headers. Un uprated induction kit is next on the agenda. Any recommendations?

One more thing (sorry for all the questions) if i were to track it, are regulation roll cages available?

2nd generation RX-7's / FC EGI - Drifter maybe???

Hey peoples. Been a while since i\'ve posted on here, mostly because I\'ve been unsure about if i could keep my FC on the road. But thanks to a life line in the form of a cheap daily hack, the FC is now staying and becoming a bit of a running project/ fun car.

I\'m pondering on either drifting it, or using it for track days and such. Does anyone know of any affordable ways of getting the car prepared for track use, and if there\'s any way of getting a few extra horses from the naturally aspirated power plant?

Regards

Mike

Doesn\'t really show off any driving skills, but her e is how my EGi sounded when it was running a straight through exhaust with hardly any silencers in it! Love the 13B sound!!
