I dont think that the cosmo general service manual has any info regarding the engine rebuild ( I have an scanned copy).  IIRC they didn\'t trust the dealers to do the job so any engines got sent back to Mazda.  I think there may be another manual dedicated to the 20b, try the eunos members website (aus site) as they will probably be able to help.

You have PM also there is a thread on Team eunos about replacing the cosmo module with an FD module (needs some rewiring)

here:

Dave Morris may be able to give you some more info.

Heat light is the exhaust heat warning light, do you have the cats still in? Either way i believe the ecu will stick a load more fuel in to try and cool things down if it stays on after start up.  Look on the DMRH website for a explanation of where it is and how to get around it.

General Technical / Cosmo - starting issue
September 30, 2008, 03:46:18 PM
Can\'t help you with the pic John, but my cosmo has/had the same issue.  I\'ve swapped out the main relay and the Egi relay to see if that cures it as the ecu wasn\'t seeing enough voltage to fire the injectors.  The fuel pump would whine, the starter motor would work but no turn-over, neither did it flood.

General Technical / auto box fault
June 16, 2008, 01:15:56 PM
I\'m no expert but depending on your series car, a flashing hold light means you\'ve got an error message stored.  Do a check (if you can) and read the number off.

I\'m guessing its a torque overload type thing (very precise i know).  Getting an auto to leave the line faster than stock, like most things, will probably mean some comprimise to normal driving.  You\'ll probably need a higher stall converter (definitly if your large single turbo) and you could get around the ATM ecu by going to a manual valve body.  Both of which will change the way the car drives to some extent.  I wonder if changing the rear diff ratio to a manual diff would help some too?  All things to get you thinking, and lots of guys on ausrotary have good experience with the jatco box so they may be able to offer more concrete advice.
