Cars for Sale / RX7 FC for free

Hi all

This was a donor car for a project and is currently a rolling shell. It was a MOT failure with a rusty floor/sills so was going to be broken for spares. I acquired it mainly complete and have used the engine, wiring and other parts for a rotary powered project. Since stripping the car of the parts. I needed it has sat in the yard at my brothers work for the last couple of years. I have been moaned at to shift it and as it seems a shame to weigh it in for scrap, I am offering it on here for free to anyone who comes and picks it up.

In general its a rolling shell and is missing the following parts:

- Complete engine, ecu and engine wiring loom
- Front seats
- Wing mirrors
- Fuel tank

The dash, main wiring loom and fusebox have been dismantled but are still in the car together with some other ancillaries like rad, pumps, air box.

It will be available from this Saturday and is located in Welham Green, Hertfordshire.

Cheers
Andy

Hi all, Does anyone know if the FC alternator needs a control signal from the ECU? Apparently the MX5 does but not sure about the RX7.

Also, does anyone know whats the recommended water temperature, at the water sensor (thermostat area), to switch on a radiator cooling fan and what temp range to cool it over before turning the fan off.

Many thanks.

General Technical / Ignition question
May 08, 2009, 07:16:15 PM
OK, now I\'m really confused (my first rotary and I\'m in at the deep end!). I\'m not sure where the coil packs came from (FC or FD) but they are all connected together on one bracket and have a single 4-way connector. They will be connected to a Haltech ECU so as long as the settings are correct it shouldn\'t matter what car the coil packs came from.

Cheers for the replies.

Thanks for the offer but already have all 4 of the coilpacks its just the ignitors that supply power to them that I need.

General Technical / Ignition question

I am converting a FC EGI engine from Dizzy and oil filled coils, to coil packs and crank angle sensor, via an aftermarket engine management system. I have a set of coil packs from a later engine but I\'m not sure if the igniters/modules are built into the coilpacks or if the are seperate? If they are seperate how many are needed, ie. do they come in one unit, so I can find secondhand parts?

Thanks for any help.
