Hay fokes mine is the same!!! Not had a re-build yet so hoping its not that!!! Just putting her back on the road for the summer!! So think she might need a good thrashing and changing the plugs might help!!

Just out of curiosity what size of battery is best!! I\'m thinking that the one I got give ain\'t strong enough!! Where is the best place to buy one!!??

Noticed it today when I was filling the radiator up! Was hosing out!! Started her up then it\'s seemed to stop once she was warm!! But thinking by that time the coolant was at a stable level.

Going up on the ramp tomorrow so hopefully get to see what it is!! Just wanted to know if a gasket could be a cause!

lower coolant hose and at the front of the engine!!! changed the hoses just the week passed!!! just hoping it nothing too major!!

the leak seems to be coming from right next to the hose connected to the engine........ the coolant runs down the pipe its self so it must be right next to that!!

General Technical / Mot Not Passed!!!!

Quote from: Prof;820975If it\'s an FD, then the test is only for CO (carbon monoxide) and HC (HydroCarbons).  If it\'s post 92/93 or 96 for an import then it should have a cat and will consequently be tested to the more stringent emissions test.

Normally a CAT and working air pump with a properly tuned non misfiring engine should be enough to pass the test.

Things people often do to help get it through:

  • Run some Redex or similar through the injectors to help clean them
  • Clean or replace the air filter
  • Make sure the spark plugs are in good order, replace if necessary
  • Make sure the car is warmed up thoroughly for the test - the MOT tester should do this and they aren\'t doing the test properly if not
  • Make sure there is no air leak in the exhaust as that can skew the readings.
  • Make sure the car is idling smoothly - no vacuum leaks, no misses, good fueling.
The O2 sensor on FC/FD is not used to adjust idle fueling, only on cruise between about 1500-3000 rpm so replacing it won\'t make a difference to the idle emissions figures, unlike with many other cars.

it is a import, 1994 FD3S...... and i have been looking on this web site and found that it shouldnt get a emissions test due to it being an import.

also found that the DVLA dont have any readings of a emission readings!!

think im getting confused... but can you clarify please!!!

General Technical / i have a leak!!!
May 01, 2012, 06:51:31 PM
Right i have a leak from my radiator to my engine....ive replaced the hoses with great difficulty with out a ramp......but its been done.....now when i fill up the radiator the coolant is ing out..... seems like its coming from the engine side.
And my question to you all is........ is there a gasket which is prone to leak where the hose is connected to the engine??

MOT next Tuesday!!

o its a 1994 FD3S type R

Quote from: neoroony;820977Simple way to check the figure you need to hit is by using the directgov site for vehicle enquires

I have a \'92 import and the report back states my CO2 emissions are zero so no testing for me.

I also checked a random \'06 911 turbo to make sure this tied up and it states 302g/km

clicked the link and mine came back as not available..... so dose mine need a emissions test?

94\' import!!!
