Last year we left on the Friday morning and returned on the Sunday evening.
As a guide form last year:-
Travel time From the shuttle to Lelystad where the event is being held is approx 250 miles approx 5 hours.
If you a definitely looking to attend this event, then please add your name to the list so we can get some idea of the number looking to attend.
Prices for the shuttle to Calais - approx £95.00 return.
Dates to be confirmed by Kees

:burnout
Yeah, this sounds good to me - date dependent of course :)

That sounds interesting. :)
I have to start planning ;) Where is that event? Is there airport near?
Seriously interested in this one, as I missed the last one.
Love to do this, but not driven abroad before!
Quote from: Clarky;881885Love to do this, but not driven abroad before!

Sound good, I\'m interested too, depending on the dates.
I\'ll dig out a couple more of my unusual rotary bikes.
See you there,
Buller.
Yahooo, chance to throw flames again :flamed errrr I mean drive sensibly.
Me and Mrs R are up for this again. It was a great drive there and back. The quality of the Rotary cars in Holland were exceptional and a great bunch of fellow enthusiasts. Even the opportunity to take the car out on track.
Amsterdam in the daylight was bad enough...but I\'m sure we can be persuaded to go again.
:cheers
A bit late to this thread... am definitely interested, but again depends on the date :)
Any news about this event? :)
I will get an update and let you all know
What hotels you can recommend? I allready have been looking that area by google and Maps. :) Lots of interesting castles near.
We now have a date, Rotarystock 2015 will be held on July 11th
More details should come over the next few weeks:3gears-rh
I take it we might be booking into the same hotel as last time if so the i might have to adjust the ride hight of the car:Giggle:Giggle due to the angle of the ramps in the multi car park over the road. thats a nice area to hold up how about doing an extra day so theres no rush back we could spend all day at the show and a sedate drive back the next day:guinness:cheers
sorry clive/ moderator
as your announcement is quite important please fell free to delete my thread
Why the sorry, you can raise your car if you want to :Giggle:Giggle:Giggle
Thanks Clive :)
E-Viking, in what hotel you were last time?
This is were we stayed last time and is close to the event
Apollo Hotel Lelystad Centre

Errrrr How may fuel stops am I allowed for this trip ?? May try convince Clive to MOT the Track car, then there will be two of us stopping regularly :Giggle
Will be nice to welcome you all again here!
I will be pushing a bit to have my car up on display, hopefully even drive it over there.
That would probably be it\'s debut :)
what days are we booking Friday:driving 10 night, Saturday 11 show day+night, I think i going to book the leave Sunday 12 after good a brecki:driving home what do you think ??? we need another day for sight seeing unless we go out at night !!
Hi Tony
I think that is the plan.:Thumbs-up
Drive down on the Friday, show on the Saturday, which we do not have to rush off to this time.( We could always go into Amsterdam in the evening :Ladys-man) and leave on the Sunday morning.
thats a plan i like, i might see about booking to see what kind of discount you can get:rollin:cool yep Amsterdam at night ho boy:Ladys-man
I was a bit shocked about hotel prizes in that area. :D I was watching hotels south from Lelystad. I wanna see castles ;)
Furb, any sightseeings what you can recommend? Your garage perhaps? ;)
Hopefully there is nothing more to see in my garage, that would mean I\'m finished ;)
Amsterdam would be an option, but at night there\'s nothing more to see then weed and hoe\'s :chat although that would be enough for some people :King
When the event gets closer I could check if there is anything to do in the area
come on guys I,ve done mine who's in

Rotarystock is on Saturday 11th July as confirmed by Kees today.
Sunday 12th Visit to Louwman Museum The Hague on Sunday
http://mazdarotaryclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=82594.0
Just to let you know this is not a really club event, just a road run to a Rotary event for Rotary enthusiasts that want to come along that we will turn into very much a small vacation 8) ,
We will be staying at the Apollo in Lelystad City Centre as a base while we are there that is not only a nice hotel but also its a new clean town with a market that will be on while we are there.
So it was not all about cars, we all had a great day out in Amsterdam that was a short train ride away including taking in the sights with a boat ride around the city-----------this year this may become a night trip  depending what the majority wish to do.
Having been twice now, you will see some very rare Rotarys from all over Europe I can assure you that the guys at the event will fall over backwards to make you all feel welcome and you will realise that language becomes no barrier at all----------we all like cars---------nuf said :thumleft:
Here's link to the 2012 event http://belgian-motorsport.com/thumbnails.php?album=643&page=1
This year some of us will stay on making it an extra day and visit the Louwman Museum which we are told by the organiser is a most excellent choice.
Nearer the time we will organise the shuttle times, where we will meet up etc.
Hotel Booked. Better start saving for fuel !! :-[
Chris
Hotel booked , all I need to do is finished the car ???
You and me both Mr carloff still doing the wiring loom and somewhere I got a new engine

We hope a lot of you will attend this event. We are sure we won't disappoint you. Besides euro is cheap now comparing to stirling.
Kind regards
Kees
Ok, seems like I cant join you guys this year. :(
I really was looking forward to go to Holland, but I just cant afford it now. I´m going to spend all my money to my project...
Ofcourse things can change, and hopefully I can get some extra money...
I'm so tempted with this trip! :) I will definitely try to make it
although I'm a bit scared of breaking down abroad. :(
Hi Gabor
Don't worry. There will be enough people to help you get you back on the road should anything happen.
Clive is going over in the RX-4 so will have plenly of spare parts with us. ;D
We are sure you will enjoy the trip.
If anyone is seriously interested in attending this event, then I would suggest that at least book the hotel up to ensure that we are all staying at the same hotel.
http://www.apollohotelsresorts.com/hotels/nederland/lelystad/apollo-hotel-lelystad-city-centre
Hopefully you won't, but you can always cancel the booking prior to the event.
Im just seing if i can get the time off work. Should know mon.
Hey guys,
Anyone got a realistic idea what this trip is gonna cost? Id really like to come but the mrs not keen due to not a lot of holiday time left so if i do come it with be a de carboning hoon in her R3...not that she knows that yet! :P
Got another expensive year with a trip to OZ and not a lot of holiday time left.
I dont think the westy is a good idea as ill have crap in an hour lol
so hotel, fuel, tunnel approx cost pls? ta
I just booked the hotel for the suggested 3 nights.
Am I correct in my assumption that we will be assembling in the UK prior to catching the ferry over?
This will be my first trip to Rotarystock, so can someone fill me in with the details of the ferry part of the trip? Thanks
Hi
Really pleased that you have decided to come along on the trip.
We all go via Folkstone to Calais on the shuttle not via ferry

Lisa are these above the train times were going for as i would book now if they are thanks tony.c
Hi Tony
I think it would be OK to book these times as it gives us enough time both ways for the drive to the hotel and for the return journey on the Monday
If anyone is interested in joining us then I would advise to at least make a reservation at the hotel as the hotel does get booked up quite quickly. Also it ensures that we are all staying at the same hotel
https://www.apollohotelsresorts.com/hotels-en-US/the-netherlands/lelystad-en-US/apollo-hotel-lelystad-city-centre-en-US/
You can always cancel prior to the date if you cannot attend.
Had a discussion with the boss and were gonna wait til we get back from OZ to make a final decision for financial reasons....boring i know im no2 in our house lol ;D
oooooh. Tempting. I used to visit Holland a lot and I'd love to go back. Alas, we can't committ as Annie's grandson is due a few weeks before and she might be needed for a while afterwards. I'm hoping we can still go, taking a few days extra to explore, but it'll have to be a last-minute decision.
Just a reminder if anyone else is interested in attending this event to Holland, then please at least book the hotel.
You only need to secure with a card payment and pay on arrival, so should (but hopefully you won't :) need to cancel, then you can cancel the booking.
This way it ensures that we are all staying at the same hotel.

See you all soon!
Just rebooked room including breakfast at £286 or â,¬392 for the 3 nights, â,¬105 cheaper than when we booked direct with the hotel chain which I have now cancelled.
Thanks Crissy & Aston :sign0098:

Our plan is to meet at the Folkstone shuttle around 9.30am on the Friday 10th July, which should leave enough time to get something to eat & drink before we depart.
I am trying to sort out stopping locations on route in order that we can regroup should we get split up on route.
If any one knows of places to stop, please post on here.
Unfortunately James( RX-8OC) has had to pull out from the trip.

If we are driving via the boring Belgian motorways :'( it might be a good idea to choose some of the many service stations along the way which CJR will have to use every 100 Km or so. They usually have HUGE car parks so we can gather there.
There is a service station after J6 of the A10 near Brugge which is well away from the chaos of Calais and Dunkerque. Maybe that could be a point of reference so we can gather the troops if we get separated?
BTW, have just discovered that we can enter TIME ATTACK at the event AND I am still insured to drive Aston's car :)) but he doesn't seem impressed by my suggestions for some unknown reason.

The surprise is that you actually think he might be impressed. :D Have a great time all you guys and gals wish I could be there, but not having a car doesn't help. :( Not that I begrudge Aston a weekend away from his work. :P

Are you able to locate any of these places on route to the hotel? I would like to try and get something organosed before we go.
Many thanks
Due to the needs of my car, I would like to keep it drinking Shell V-power.
I stumbled across an App that does all the hard work here, it's called 'Shell Motorist App' and it has what seems to be a decent station locator.
Happily, it shows there are lots of places to fill up along our likely route from Calais to Lelystad.
Thanks Mike.
Things to remember:-
1. Travel Insurance
2. Break down cover
3. Car insurance cover European travel
4. Passports
Anything I've missed?
Spare set of bulbs.
High viz top to be carried in passenger compartment to be used when exiting the vehicle on major roads.
Warning triangle.
Breathalyser.
All suggested if travelling through France, not all carry fines, even though compulsory.
sorry due to some commitments I have got to pull out of this trip :!:

Something else that we need to be wary of is the shit that is currently going down in Calais with the hordes of illegal immigrants trying to enter the UK. Because of this it's recommended that people traveling to France don't stop for petrol or use rest areas anywhere near Calais. So... that means filling up at Folkestone on the way to Lelystad and filling up in Belgium on the way back. Plus lock up your cars while in the area.
Here is some travel advice from the UK Government:
QuoteSummary
Still current at: 29 June 2015
Updated: 29 June 2015
Latest update: Summary - disruption to MyFerryLink sailings on 29 June
Due to industrial action there is disruption to MyFerryLink sailings on 29 June. If you’re crossing the Channel from Dover/Folkstone to the Port of Calais check online with your chosen operator and plan your journey to avoid disruption. See the following information and advice. Information about alternative routes and operators is available via this interactive map.
There are large numbers of illegal migrants in and around Calais, who may seek to enter the UK illegally. Although local police patrols have been reinforced, you should keep vehicle doors locked in slow moving traffic and secure your vehicle when it is left unattended.
There is a high threat from terrorism. An attack took place on 26 June, at Saint Quentin Fallavier near Lyon. French authorities are treating this as a terrorist incident. Due to ongoing threats to France by Islamist terrorist groups, and recent French military intervention against ISIL, the French government has warned the public to be especially vigilant and has reinforced its security measures.
I think the migrants mostly affect lorry drivers but as a lot of them are now boycotting Calais altogether they might try and force their way through cars, etc. The walking stick might make a personal appearance just in case ;)
Here are a few Shell Pee-Pit Stops near Dunkirk and Bruges.
Yup I'll be filling up in Folkstone, so that should get me to Calais, :P
Should make it to first stop outside Calais ???
Think we averaged a stop every 1 hour depending on speeeeed. ;D
Getting excited now :-\ nearly saved enough to keep Shell in business for another 2 years :D
Chris
Plenty of speed cameras in Belgium so you'll have to go slow Chris. Or lift and coast at every opportunity :D
Sorry to inform you that the RX-4 will not be at the event, too big of a hassle to get it there :(
I have arranged a TII vert from a fellow member to drive there.
Clive and Lisa, if you would like to check out the car in my workshop, you are ofcourse more then welcome.
Sorry the RX-4 will not be ready in time, but we will still see you at Rotarystock :)

Jim
Jim,
So I take it the Gen 2 lives again, if so, well done
I best get those oil seals up to you then ;)
I haven't managed to sort the t2 ,it needs a new engine and I don't have the ecu back. But sorted a car for the trip, but after a spirited drive the car rolled down my driveway into the house, but that's will be sorted :P
Does it not have a handbrake then?
KnowingJim... No
It has a handbrake, but the top of my driveway is a bit steep, and combined with my style of driving(style :-[), I have had half a dozen cars roll away on me over the years, you would of thought that I would learn. All sorted now (big thanks to steve for that)
glad you can fix it jim ;)
That's what Jims do, isn't it? :-D
Btw you are the first to known that Aston finally came out of the tifosi closet and shouted "forza Seb" during the GP

the weekend approaches!
Assuming its still a scheduled stop, owing to the calais shenanigans, we'll aim to meet up with you all at that first petrol stop instead of as you get off the train. The one labelled no.6 and 73 miles from Calais on the earlier map. Hope thats ok?
Simon
With 110 cars coming in from all over Europe there should be lots of nice toys to look at :)
Didn't realise we could register. :P Just been on their site and added details of the car, one or two cleaver Brit's have been there already :))

Here we go... just to remind all of you who are not following us on the Facebook page of the achievements of the MRC Int'l Massive at this year's Rotarystock in Holland. It was a fun event, very relaxed and with great company. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and even arranged for the weather to be superb on Saturday!! Perfect.
A quick note for those of you who had concerns about this being a "strictly car related" event: we managed to make it into a mini-holiday and although some of us spent all day Saturday burning dinosaurs juice round the track, on Sunday we played tourists around Amsterdam and chilled all day going on boat tours, walking, passively smoking outside coffee shops ;) while walking, shopping for flowers, eating ice creams, walking, drinking coffee, walking and looking at (plastinated) corpses. What more could I possibly say to persuade you to join us next time? ^-^ :))
So, to recap the winners were:
Clive: Best RX4 and Best of Show
CJR: 2nd in the Time Attack (Choo-Choo cars)
Arnie_O: 1st in the Slalom (Turbo cars)
LennyCarloff: 1st in the Slalom (n/a cars)*, 3rd in the Time Attack (n/a cars)* + the trophy he won 2 years ago for fastest Northener abroad
Exiled Viking: Best RX8 in the EEC
* n/a = Not Applicable :P
People who should also have won a trophy:
Simon: best bonnet cable release
Mike: best black FD travelling on the upper floor of Le Shuttle
Graham: bravest vegetarian in the world for ordering just salad in a steak house
Me: best Time Attack sighting laps
Tina: best linguist for consolidating the MRC super secret sign language
Lisa: most patient event organizer
Heidi: she's Jim's girlfriend
In between laughing, eating and drinking it was suggested that perhaps the next time the MRC does Rotarystock we could make it even better by turning it into a proper road trip using the back roads (especially in Belgium) and taking in the sights. A bit like an "all day breakfast" run on the other side of the road...
Thank you so much everyone for making this such a special weekend. Hopefully I'll see you all again soon! xx
Thank you Crissy, pleased you really enjoyed the event. You have summed up the event perfectly :)
:) A really super write up Crissy - I really must get you to speak to Gwyn before the next one to "sell" the social side of this trip ;)
I have 2 years to achieve that. Bearing in mind you sail everywhere you are missing out on all things inland. I just discovered there is a village with no roads near the area we stayed in. Definitely not a car related thing!
The social side was great btw. Fingers crossed for the next one.
Once again thanks to all for a really great time last weekend,
As all of you who attended will know, due to the very very high standard of cars that attended I was really blown away with the RX-4 being awarded Best of Show and found myself quite embarrassed receiving this, but as it was pointed out to me again and again particularly by Aston "IT WAS THE PEOPLE AT THE SHOW WHO PICKED THE RX-4 , NOT THE JUDGES"
After horrifically losing the RX-8 at the start of the trip here are some of the happier memory's of last weekend,
