You can push the fd up to the rev limit without too much fear.  Hitting the rev limiter is probably not a great idea although the flames out of the back are impressive.  The sudden loss of power isn\'t!

My limit\'s set to 8100 but, when ragging it I tend to change in the 7800 region.  I also change earlier in higher gears.  Most of the FD deaths seem to have been under heavy load in 4th and 5th (maybe where wind resistance adds a lot of load?).

I would guess upping the limit to 8500 would be okay for a healthy engine but the harder you push it the shorter it\'ll live!  Much above 8500 and you\'re probably into ceramic tip territory.  Carl could probably add more accurate limits to that though...

I just saw my typo. that\'s supposed to be 113 in 3rd gear lol.
Revving the engine above 8,500 rpm is ok as long as it\'s been built with that in mind a stock one easn\'t so hence wouldn\'t be  wise on stock engine.

you dont need to rev to the red line - at that point the torque and BHP curve starts to drop - so change up about 750 - 500 revs off the red line

keeps the engine happy - and if you drive like that you are ..
