Hi all!

Another problem with the 1984 RX7; it came back from the repairers yesterday after welding to cure the leak into the footwells (turned out to be poor previous repairs to the seams under the front wheel splash guards) and now the hazard lights/indicators are dead.  Maybe something to do with the welding (?) as my choke died and is still dead after its last visit...
Anyway, changed the fuse...no joy, and grabbed the Haynes manual for the wiring diagram. Also searched the US sites for help.
In my electronic ignorance there is lots of talk about flasher relays (relay F-03 according to the Haynes); I can\'t see anything that looks remotely like it under the steering column yet I\'ve also read it\'s in the CPU under there.
Has anyone had this problem before and if so what did you do? (and is what I\'m reading about relays/CPU\'s etc. the correct info?)

All help appreciated!

If your welder didn\'t disconnect the battery he is a very bad bad man... it can lead to all sorts of problems. I thought the cpu was on the passanger side under the carpet and a protective plate. not sure about relays though.

if you need any parts i\'m breaking an89 rx7 so should be able to sort you out.

Thanks Al, I\'ll check re the parts once I\'ve sorted out the problem. I figured he didn\'t disconnect the battery; I must check behind the protective plate on the passengers side to see what\'s lurking under there..

Looked under the protector plate drivers side, an electronic box stamped with the Mitsubishi logo (even though it is OEM) with no user-servicable parts inside; doesn\'t appear to be what I\'m looking for.
What I did find was a black plastic unit on the drivers side, about 1" square by 2" high, with 4 flat pins on the end and the unit is marked as

\'8598 RELAY- CHECK LAMP 12V21WX2\'

I can\'t seem to be able to attach a photo (damn work computer probably)

Would this be the part that is causing my hazards/indicators not to work?
