where is the beat place to relocate the battery to if i dont have rear storage bins? Also does anyone sell a kit to do this? Or is there a way i can put my battery i have now in the boot and use a mini battery kit in the engine bay?

Martin

if you are going to relocate the batt, theres no reason for a mini batt in the engine bay... unless your putting lots of ICE in and need the extra ooph.

I have relocated my batt to the boot for a FMIC setup(woo so much room now!:D), inside a ally battery box. pic tomorrow if I remember:)

Donato

I relocated mine to the centre of the boot for a FMIC install, i now have even less space!

Adam

Relocated mine in the boot in carbon look box from demon tweeks....

Don\'t you need a gel battery if its inside the car ? Been thinking about doing this too. Or is the battery box ok for a normal battery ? If so how much are the ali ones ?

i was thinking about this a while ago

so..

1 - do you need a special battery
2 - do you just extend the wires or what ????

idiot mode on ...

so you remove the battery - dump in boot , then connect the + of the battery to the red lead in the engine .. or am i missing something - do you need to rewire if from the starter motor and the alternator ??

you can tell i dont know much about it :) :) :)

If you are moving the battery to inside the car, you should replace it with a gel battery. This is because if you crash (god forbid) you wouldnt get covered in acid, just gel. Dont know how it works, but its a safety thing. ;)

It\'s also a good idea to put a (big) fuse on the positive wire.

the only reason i wanted 2 batteries is cos i have a earthing kit which is connected to the battery. so if i wanted to run 2 batteries one in the engine bay and one in the boot how would i connect them up? would i just need a positive cable from one to the other and a negative? or shall i ditch the earthing kit and relocate, id so what is the best battery to buy?

Fish

Ah like a split system, one for the engine and electronics, and the other for a sound system. Split chanrging. ;)

I would run both pos. and neg. down to the other battery, with extra earthing on the one in the boot.

Not sure if you would need to put a bigger alternator on the car though.

so all i would need is an extra positive and negative cable running from one battery to the other?

Adam

you\'ll need a split charging system....  you can get one form any good audio shop mate....

MaddogRX7

cheers mate any ideas on a good battery for the boot?

MillSpeed

Alot of people use Optima dry-cell batteries. Think the yellow top is the one you need (pretty compact).
